July 3. 1980 Class Of 1945 Holds Reunion : I I Twelve members of the Grover High School Class of 1945 gathered for their 35th year reunion last Saturday night at the Grover Rescue Squad building. Twenty-six persons were in at tendance, including Principal Ed Hamrick and Mrs. Hamrick, and Mrs. Yancey Ellis, a teacher. Mrs. Juanita Hope Pruette presided over the meeting. Bob Hambright was elected as chair man of a committee to plan another reunion in five years. Doris Royster Moritz won the prize for traveling the longest distance. She and her husband came from Anaheim, Calif. Others from out-of-state includ ed Allene Giles of Hamden, « Conn., Marie Rugg of ^ Chamblee, Ga., and Audrey Gresh of Hollywood, Fla. Other prizes were awarded to Beulah Brackett, most children; Grace Ledford, most grand children; Bob Hambright, youngest child; Betty Lou Kirkpatrick, youngest grand child; and Bob Beam, least amount of hair. Stale University in Raleigh during graduation exercises in May. Jeffrey is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas J. Redmond of Rt. 2 Kings Mountain. His is mar ried to the former Jane Lovelace, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J.T. Beam of Kings Mountain and George Lovelace of Pineville. Mr. Redmond is currently employed by Buckeye Cellulose Coop., a division of Proctor and Gamble, in Americus, Ga. He has recently returned from a 2 week study project sponsored by Proctor and Gamble in Mon treal, Canada and will leave June 29 for a similar course in Sweden. Shower Honors Bride-Elect A drop-in bridal shower Sun day afternoon at the home of Mrs. Clyde Short honored Miss Tammy Ross, August 23 bride- to-be of Scott Ellis. Entertaining with Mrs. Short were Mrs. Ronald Hamrick, Mrs. Marvin Hamrick and Mrs. Fred Kiser. Present as special guests were Mrs. Jerry Ross, mother of the bride-to-be, and Mrs. Donald Ellis, mother of the future bridegroom. The bride’s table, highlight of decoration, was centered with an arrangement of day lilies. Punch, cake squares, and nuts were serv ed from crystal appointments. Thirty-two guests called from 3 until 5 p.m. and showered the bride-to-be with gifts for her new home.
