Smiths Wed Saturday -it } ii;/' Mr. and Mrs. David Dewitt Smith, who were wed Saturday, are on a wedding trip to Myrtle Beach, S.C. and afterwards will be at home in Grover. Miss Shirley Ann Conner became Mr. Smith’s bride in a Candlelight wedding in Kings Mountain Church of God. Rev. Jerry A. Smith, minister of the church, heard the exchange of vows. Mrs. Joyce Wyte was organist and Mrs. Annette Clary was pianist and vocal soloist. Mrs. Clary sang ‘i Pledge My Love To You” before the ceremony and the benedictional Lord’s Prayer. The altar of the church was banked with palms and enhanc ed by cathedral tapers in wrought-iron candelabra. Baskets of glads centered the set ting. Troy Conner escorted his daughter to the altar and gave her in marriage. The bride’s wed ding gown was a formal design of sheer silk organza featuring Venise lace at the bodice and high neckline. Long, Bishop sleeves had lace cuffs. The silk organza skirt extended into a Chapel length train. Her finger tip veil of silk illusion was attach ed to a Camelot cap edged in matching Venise lace and she carried a nosegay of daisies and baby’s breath tied with white streamers. Miss Terry Conner attended her sister as maid of honor and Miss Rhonda Ross of Kings Mountain, Mrs. Sue Martin of Grover, sister of the bridegroom. Miss Robin Cash of Kings Mountain and Mrs. Teresa Whetstine of Gastonia were bridesmaids. All the attendants wore' long formals of maize organza featur ing ruffles at the neckline and on the full skirt which ended in a ruffle flounce. They carried bou- quets of yellow daisies and w baby’s breath tied with yellow ^ satin streamers. The bridegroom’s father was best man. Groomsmen were & icky Galloway of Shelby, Dale lartin of Kings Mountain, brother-in-law of the bridegroom, Gary Martin of Grover and Danny Whetstine of ^ Gastonia. ^ A Flower girls were Melissa Mit- * chell and Shannon Conner who wore dresses styled similarly to the adult attendants and carried lace baskets of flower petals. Ringbearer was Jeremy Mar tin, nephew of the bridegroom. Morrow ♦ ’'♦Birth ♦ I# Announced Mr. and Mrs. Fred Morrow of 201 Marigold Ave. announce the birth of a daughter, Sandra Danielle, June 7th, Cleveland Memorial Hospital. The baby weighed seven pounds. She has a four-year-old brother, Dennis. Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Troy Morrow of Kings Mountain and Mrs. Jessie Smith of York, S.C. Great grandmother is Mrs. Nola Mor row of Kings Mountain. H’-i MRS. DAVID DEWITT SMITH (Shirley Ann Conner) and Junior usher was Brad Grigg. Honored guests and seated with family members were Mr. and Mrs. Paul K. Grigg and Mr. and Mrs. Steve Grigg, all of Kings Mountain. The bride’s mother chose a formal gown of seafoam green and a white carnation shoulder corsage. The bridegroom’s mother chose a dusty blue formal and a white carnation shoulder cor sage. After receiving guests in the church vestibule, the bridal pair left for a wedding trip. The bride wore a cream<olored jersey dress and lifted the corsage from her bridal bouquet. BRIDE AND BRIDEGROOM Mr. and Mrs. Troy Conner of Kings Mountain are parents of the bride who is a 1980 graduate of Kings Mountain Senior High School. Mr. and Mrs. Thurmon Smith of Grover are parents of the bridegroom who is a 1978 graduate of Blacksburg, S.C. High School and is employed by Monsanto Industries. CAKE CUTTING The bride’s F>arents entertain ed Friday evening at a cake cut ting after the wedding rehearsal in Kings Mountttin Church of God. Wedding colors were featured in decorative details and refreshments.
