Candlelight wedding uniting Miss Elizabeth Amanda Wright and Tony Glenn Gilstrap. The Rev. Michael Goudelock, pastor of the church, heard the couple exchange vows of the double-ring ceremony. Mrs. Bobby Webster was organist and Bobby Webster and Mrs. Ray O. Bridges were vocalists for the program of wed ding music. Mr. Webster sang, ‘‘Gentle Shepherd” and a duet, ‘The Wedding Song”was used prior to the exchange of vows and ‘The Lordts .Prgy^” ,^a« sung for the benediction. Three tree candelabrum enhanced the sanctuary and two baskets of mixed flowers, carna tions, glads and mums centered the setting. A prayer bench centered the setting and pew markers were bows of satin and greenery. Howard Stokes Wright escorted his daughter to the altar and gave her in marriage. The bride’s legendary gown was fashioned of satin peau-de-soie, sheer organza and Alencon lace. An empire waist of sheer overlaid with lace featured a Turn To 2B MRS. Dover Memorial Chapel on the campus of Gard- . ner Webb College at Boiling Spr ings provided the setting Satur day for a 6 p.m. wedding uniting Miss Deborah Kay Greene and Michael Steven Sipe. The Rev. Steve Crouse, pastor of Enoree Baptist Church of Traveler’s Rest, S.C., heard the exchange of vows in the double ring ceremony. Conrad Hughes was organist; ^ Chris Cole was trumpeter and Don Balltzglier,Jr. was soloist, accompanied by Mark Ledford at guitar for the program of wed ding music. Single brass candles on the altar were entwined with ivy and palms, ferns and caladiums were used throughout the Chapel as background decoration. The bride was given in mar- kriage by her parents. She wore a 'long Candlelight chiffon gown with empire waist. The Vic torian style gown featured a high Schiffli embroidered neckline and short capelet sleeves that ex tended over the shoulder line. The full A line skirt was design ed with a Chapel length train which was enhanced with a deep scalloped border of the delicate Schiffli embroidered lace. Long matching gauntlet gloves of the same Schiffli embroidery com pleted the gown. She wore a mat ching Designer’s hat with Schiffli embroidered lace and roses and chapel length illusion streamers. She carried a bouquet of pink and ivory sweetheart roses with babys breath. Mrs. Dennis Hogan of Simp- sonville, S.C. was the bride’s matron of honor and Mrs. Sheila Mullinax of Fort Mill, S. C., sister of the bridegroom, was Turn To 2B Mr. and Mrs. David Wayne Hinshaw, who were wed Satur day, are on a wedding trip to Sea Island, Ga. and afterwards will be at home in Clemmons, N.C. Miss Jennie Gray Mauney became Mr. Hinshaw’s bride in a 3 p.m. wedding in Saint Mat thew’s Lutheran Church which was characterized by reverence and in a pink and white setting enhanced by altar decorations of white snapdragons, white glads and pink roses. Mrs. Lawrence E. Hinnant was organist for the program of wedding music. The prelude of selections included Ellsasser’s “Joyful, Joyful We Adore Thee”, Bach’s ‘T’relude and Fugue In F Major”, Kendall’s “Voluntary” with horns and cor net solo, Handel’s “Suite from Water Music”, including ‘‘Allegro Vivaco;, “Air”, “Minuet”, and Hornpipe, “Fugue” by Selby, Prelude on ‘Terra Patris” by Johnson and Bach’s “Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring”. Mrs. Hinnant played Voluntary on “Ein Feste Burg” by Young as the processional and Psalm IX, ‘The Heavens Are Telling the Glory of God” as the recessional march. Dr. William Lawrence Mauney escorted his daughter to the altar and gave her in mar riage. The bride was a romantic glow in sheer white organza. Alencon lace defined the lovely portrait neckline and fashioned the natural waisted molded bodice with long tapered sleeves. Lace appliques cascaded down the front of the full flowing skirt with Chapel train. Her Chapel length mantilla, a drift of illusion edged and caressed with Alen con lace, floated from an Alen con lace cap. She carried a nosegay of white roses, baby’s breath and stephanotis centered with a white orchid and showered with ribbon streamers. Mrs. C. Jeff Mauney of Kings Mountain was her sister-in4aw’s matron of honor and bridesmaids were Ms. Denise Hord Collins of Virginia Beach, Va., Mrs. G. Edward Hinshaw, Mrs. Daniel G. Ross and Ms. Teresa Kate Whitener, all of Winston Salem. All the attendants wore rose blush gowns of Tinaseta and chiffon. Soft asymmetrical drapes defined the bodices with double spaghetti straps. The dresses were enhanced by full, swirling accordian pleated skirts and matching chiHon capelets. They carried nosegays of pink roses, daisies, white mums, baby’s breath and stephanotis. Garl Edward Hinshaw of Winston Salem was his son’s best man. Groomsmen were Henry Alfred Badgett II of Virginia Beach, Va., Ralph Douglas Dampier of Lewisville, Garl Ed ward Hinshaw, Jr. of Winston Salem, brother of the bridegroom. Dr. Charles Jeffer son Mauney of Kings Mountain, brother of the bride. Captain William Lawrence Mauney, Jr. of West Germany, brother of the bride, and Douglas Eugene Nelson of Winston Salem. Robert Neal Wilson of Kings Mountain, served as acolyte and lighted altar candles prior to the exchange of vows. The bride’s mother was gown ed in an Elaine Original of baby blue silk chiffon enhanced by three-quarter length cape and a pink cymbidium orchid corsage. The bridegroom’s mother chose a formal length gown of yellow Quiana featuring long sleeves with yellow sequins enhancing the neckline and sleeves. She wore a white cym bidium orchid at her shoulder. Dr. and Mrs. William Lawrence Mauney entertained '^fter the ceremony at a beautifully-appointed wedding reception at the home of their son and daughter-in-law, Dr. and Mrs. C. Jeff Mauney on North Piedmont Avenue. Overlaid with lace over pink, the bride’s table in the dining room was highlight of decora tion. A seven-branch silver candelabrum held pink tapers and epergnettes held pink and white flowers. Pink punch was served from a silver punch bowl from one end of the table and a silver service holding fresh fruits was at the opposite end of the Turn To 9B Mr.and Mrs. Henry Parks Neisler, Jr., who were wed Aug. 16th, have returned from a wed ding trip to California and the Hawaiian Islands and are at home at Apartment 8 Gold Street Apartments in Kings Mountain. Miss Julia Kimball McDonough became Mr. Neisler’s bride in a high noon wedding in St. Luke’s Episcopal Church of Atlanta, Ga. Father Peter Gorday heard the ex change of vows. Paul Stockhammer was organist for the program of tradi tional music. The altar of the church was flanked by large arrangements of yellow gladioli, fuji mums, marigolds and apricot carna tions. The bride entered the church with her father, John Joseph McDonough, Jr. Her gown was a formal length design of French eyelet embroidered voile and featured a portrait neckline outlined with a double ruffle of eyelet and lace and enhanced by Chapel train. Her headpiece was a circlet of handmade French silk flowers with flowing satin streamers entwined with silk flowers. She carried a bouquet of white albium lilies, lilies of the SANDRA LYNN RUPPE ENGAGED-Mr.and Mrs. Marshall Ruppe of Gaffney3outh Carolina announce the engagement of their daughter, Sandra Lynn, to Charlton Bryan Watson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Watson of Gaff ney. The bride-elect is a graduate of Gaffney High School, Spartan burg Technical College and is a secretary in the Law Offices OF E. C. Burnett, Jr. and James O. Thomason. The bridegroom-elect is a graduate of Gaffney High School, attended USC-Spartanburg and is employed by Taylor-Watson Furniture Company. A November 9 wedding is planned at Cherokee Creek Baptist Church, in Gaffney. The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ira Dixon of Route 2, Kings Mountain. valley and white tea roses. Miss Meta McDonough was her sister’s maid of honor and bridesmaids were Miss May la McDonough, sister of the bride. Miss Susan Dunn of Jonesboro, Ga., Miss Bridgette Bayne of Atlanta, Ga., Miss Virginia Ser- rat of Columbus, Ga. All the attendants wore yellow silk formals overlaid with white silk organza. The dresses were fashioned with portrait necklines edged with white lace and yellow silk ribbons. They carried tear-shaped bouquets of Golden Splendor lilies, baby’s breath and yellow roses tied with yellow satin streamers. Henry Parks Neisler of Kings Mountain was his son’s best man. Groomsmen were David Neisler and Hayne Neisler, twin brothers of the bridegroom, Lee Sommers Neisler, cousin of the bridegroom, all of Kings Moun tain, Moore Patton of Gastonia, Joe Blair Davis of Gastonia, Jack McDonough, III, brother of the bride, James Heard of Atlanta, Ga., Sollie Foy of Alex ander City, Ala., Julius Jennings Wade, 111 of Charlotte and Carter Todd of Kingsport, Tenn. The groomsmen wore dark grey stroller coats and grey striped trousers with lapel boutineres of lily of the valley. The bride’s mother, Mrs. John Joseph McDonough, Jr., wore a salmon silk brocade suit and a bouquet of cymbidium orchids. Mrs. Henry Parks Neisler, mother of the bridegroom, wore a shadow print chiffon in shades of muted grey, white and coral. The dress was topped with a short jacket. She wore a shoulder bouquet of white butterfly or chids. The bride”s grandmother, Mrs. John Joseph McDonough of Atlanta, Ga., wore a dress of copper silk brocade. She carried a corsage of green cymbidium or chids. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Joseph McDonough, Jr. of Atlanta, Ga. and the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Joseph McDonough of Atlanta, Ga. and the late Mr. and Mrs. John McDonald Noecker of Scranton, Pa. She is a graduate of Wood ward Academy in Atlanta and attended Queens College in Charlotte. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Parks Neisler of Kings Mountain are parents of the bridegroom who is grandson of Mrs. Paul Mauney Neisler of Kings Mountain and the late Mr. Neisler and of Mrs. William Carl Biggers of Kings Mountain and the late Mr. Big gers. He is a graduate of Gaston Day School and Davidson Col lege and is associated with his family at Dicey Mills in Shelby.
