Nonmbm 13. 1980 Tignor-Whitaker Vows Spoken Miss Lisa Renee’ Tignor and Timmy Whitaker exchanged vows in an impressive candlelight service, Saturday, Oct. 18, at seven o’clock in the evening. The home of Mr. and Mrs. Robert W. Whiteside of Kings Mountain, provided the setting. The couple pledged vows of the double-ring ceremony and the lighting of the Unity Candle, before the Rev. Fred Wells, pastor of Mid-View Baptist Church. Mrs. Ray O. Bridges was organist for the program of traditional music. The prelude of selections in cluded; Jesu, Joy of Men’s Desir ing, Because, We’ve Only Just Begun, Walk Hand In Hand, I Take Thee Dear, If You Will Only Let God Guide You, O Perfect Love and the Wedding Prayer. Mr. and Mrs. Doug Lawing were vocalists, using the song, “1 Pledge My Love To You” im mediately after the exchange of the vows. "The Lord’s Prayer” was sung for the benediction by Mrs. Ray O. Bridges. The setting for the exchange of vows was before two seven- branch candleabra, with the Unity Candles banked by green Schifferali. The birde’s gown was a for mal design of white silk and needlepoint lace, with empire waist of lace and seed pearls, featuring a high Victorian neckline and long fitted sleeves, fastening at the wrist with scalloped lace. The full A-line skirt was sprinkled with lace motifs at the hemline, and featured a Chapel length train which was enhanced with a deep scalloped border of delicate em broidered lace. Her finger tip veil of English tulle was bordered with lace scallops and seed pearls and attached to a seed pearl Duchess crown. She carried a white Bible belonging to her late grandmother, Mrs. P.A. Hawkins, covered with apricot can-can roses, daisies and baby’s breath and springeri fern. Miss Teresa Feimster attend ed the bride as Maid of Honor and only attendant and wore a floor length gown of apricot Trivera with a blouson bodice and capelet sleeves. She carried a long stem can-can rose and T ..It «r. ^ MRS. TIMMY WmTAKER (Lisa Tignor) circlet of baby’s breath in her hair. Best man for the bridegroom was his father, Harvey Whitaker. Randy Whitaker, brother of the bridegroom, serv ed as acolyte and lighted and candles prior to the exchange of vows. The Bride’s mother chose a formal length gown of rust- colored Qiana with a matching wristlet of rust colored mums. The bridegroom’s mother was gowned in a full length formal of salmon Trivera with a daisy cor sage at her shoulder. Pamela Crawford, cousin of the bride, served at the register, gowned in a floor length dress or Burgundy Trivera, with a white daisy cor sage. Immediately following the ceremony, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Whiteside entertained at a beautifully appointed wedding reception. The bride’s table was highlight of the decorations, a hand crocheted lace cloth over apricot, a three branch 'candleabra held white tapers, with can can roses, daisies and baby’s breath, centering the table, with the three-tier apricot and white wedding cake, topped with wedding bells and a bride and groom on one end of the table, and a crystal punch bowl on the other end. Cheese buds, mints and nuts were served from silver appointments. Serving the punch were Angela Bumgarner and Robin Davis, also cousins of the bride. Misses Kim Hawkins, Zena and Tonya served as Tea Girls for the evening. Melanie Davis and Dee Davis handed out rice bags during the reception and a medley of love songs were played by Mrs. Bridges during the reception. After receiving friends, the newlyweds left for a short wed ding trip. Mrs. Linda Hawkins Tignor and Ronald Eugene Tignor are parents of the bride and she is a graduate of Kings Mountain High School and is presently employed by Kings Mountain Hospital as a Physical Therapist. The bridegroom’s parents are Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Whitaker of Kings Mountain, he is also a graduate of Kings Mountain High School and presently employed by Lithium Corpora tion of Bessemer City, N.C. The couple will reside at home on Long-Branch Road, Grover. MRS. CHARLTON BRYAN WATSON (Sandra Rupp*) Watsons Wed Sunday Miss Sandra Lynn Ruppe, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Mar shall Ruppe of Route No. 2, Gafthey, became the bride of Charlton Bryan Watson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Watson of 150 Greenbriar Drive, Gaffney, Sunday afternoon at Cherokee Creek Baptist Church. The dou ble ring ceremony was perform ed by Rev. Phillip Broyles. Prior to the wedding hour of three o’clock, a prelude of nup tial music was rendered by Mrs. Candy Goforth. After the mothers were seated, Mrs. Joy Hollifield of Fort Lawn, sang ‘The Wedding Song” and during the ceremony sang “Evergreen”. Prior to the taking of commu nion by the bride and groom, Johnny Harris sang ‘‘The Twelfth of Never”. Rev. Broyles sang ‘The Lord’s Prayer” for the benediction. The church sanctuary was decorated with an arch candelabrum with jade greens and lighted cathedral tapers with four boston ferns in front. Two tree candelabra and two spiral candelabra also holding jade greens and lighted tapers were used on each side of the arch. The kneeling bench and the communion table compileted the setting for the ceremony. Given in marriage by her parents, the bride was escorted to the altar by her father. She wore a gown of white knitted chiffon and beaded re embroidered Alencon lace designed with a high necline, modified empire waistline and long bishop sleeves. The circular yoke was outlined with ruffles and silk venise lace and beaded lace appliques enhanced the bodice, sleeves and cuffs. The full skirt was accented with lace motifs and bands of cluny lace circled the skirt and flounced hem which extended into a chapel-length train. Her chapel- length veil was edged with Chan tilly lace and was caught to a Juliet cap re-embroidered with seed pearls. She carried a cascade bouquet of mixed silk fall flowers arranged on a lace- covered Bible. The Bible was presented to the bride by her church in a White Bible Ceremony on October 12.
