The bride-to-be is the dau^ter of Mrs. William Wyers and Dean Payne and graduated from Kings Mountain High School. She is employed by Barclay’s American^inancial. The bridegroom-elect is the son of Mrs. Gertrude Davis and the late Herbert Davis and graduated from Ashbrook High School in Gastonia. The prospective bridegroom is employed by Carolina Western Express. USA DJkNIEU^ GARRIS AND RONALD EUGENE CRAWFORD ENGAGED—Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Garris announce the engage ment of their daughter, Lisa Danielle, to Ronald Eugene Crawford, son of Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Crawford. Both families are of Kings Mountain. The bride-to-be is a senior studentat Kings Mountain Senior High School and is employed by Pizza Inn, Shelby. The pro spective bridegroom is a 1978 graduate of KMSHS and is employed by Superior Bolster Company in Gastonia. The wedding will be an event of January 3, 1981. Watson Vows Exchanged (From Pag* 2-B) to the neck bindings and extend ed into long raglan sleeves which gathered at the wrist. At the waistline the skirt gathered in the back bringing fullness to a soft floor-length train. She car ried a silk arm bouquet of beige and brown poppies. Serving as bridesmaids were Mrs. Ann Smiley, sister of the bride. Miss Gina Watson, sister of the groom, both of Gaffney, and Mrs. Kathy Dill of Spartan burg. Their china rose gowns were identical to that of the honor attendant. They carried similar bouquets of teige and brown poppies. A Andrea Bridges and Lisa ™ Bridges, of Gaffney served as flower girls. They wore dresses similar to those of the other at tendants. They carried baskets of silk mixed fall flowers. The groom’s father, Floyd Watson, served as best man. Groomsmen were Mitchel Hum phries, Mike Ivey, both of Gaff- 9 ney and Malcolm Watson, cousin of the groom, of Chester. Mrs. Joan Watson, of Chester, kept the bridal register. The bride’s mother wore a floor-length dress of jade green and the groom’s mother wore a formal gown of rose. Orchid cor sages complemented their attire. A long-stemmed red rose was presented to each mother by the 0 bride. Following the wedding ceremony the bride’s parents hosted a reception at Cherokee National Golf Club. The tables were placed in a U shape and covered with yellow linen overlaid with white lace. Two baskets of mixed fall flowers decorated the tables on ^ which assorted hors d’oeuvres were served. Assisting in serving with Mrs. Judy Godfrey, Mrs. Gail Dixon, Mrs. Mary Hamrick and Mrs. (>pal Parkard. The bride’s table held a three tiered wedding cake embossed with white roses and tt^rped with a miniature bride and groom. A yellow water fountain flowed beneath the cake. The A cake was cut by the couple and served to the guest by Mrs. Ruth Ruppe and Mrs. Sheila Whelchel. A round table decorated similar to the serving tables were used for the punch fountain from which green punch was served by Mr. and Mrs. Boyce Wells of Kings Mountain. Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Smith ^ of Kings Mountain said good byes. Following a trip to Gatlin- bnrg, the couple will make their home at Route 2, Gaffney. For traveling the bride wore a three piece beige suit with matching assessories. The bride is a 197S graduate of Gaffney High School and received an Associate’s Degree A in Secretarial Science from Spar tanburg Technical College. She is employed in the Law OfTices of E.C. Burnett, Jr. and James O. Thomason in Spartanburg. She is the granddau^ter of Mr. and Mrs. Ira Dixon of Route 2, Kings Mountain. The groom is a 1976 graduate of Gaffney High School and at tended the University of South Carolina at Spartanburg. He is employed by Taylor-Watson Furniture Company. Following the rehearsal Satur day evening the groom’s parents entertained the wedding party to a buffet dinner in Stephenson Hall at Limestone College. Saturday afternoon at 1 p.m.. Miss Gina Watson, Mrs. Sandra Huntley and Miss Myra Susan Huntley hosted a bridesmaid luncheon for Miss Rupp>e and her attendants at the Watson home. The bride-to-be chose this time to present her attendants gifts. MARJORIE HATCH AND MICHAEL A. WICKS ENGAGED—George L. Hatch of Kings Mountain announces the engagement of his daughter, Marjorie, to Michael A. Wicks, son of Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Wicks of Decorah, Iowa. The bride-elect is also daughter of Mrs. Carol W. Hatch of Newark, Ohio. The bride-to-be is a graduate of Newark, Ohio schools and received her degree from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. She is a Food Service Manager Trainee for Macke Company of Charlotte. The prospective bridegroom is a graduate of the University of Iowa and is an under writer for Iowa National Mutual Insurance Company. The wedding will be an event of December 27th at 2 p.m. in Kings Mountain’s First Presbyterian Church.
