Fourteen students, with their instructor Bob Blanton, departed on June 24 for two weeks visiting, learning, and enjoying interesting and historical sites. They attended museums and theatres. The group visited Canterbury Cathedral, Hever Castle and Chat well, the Tower of London and the British Museum. They spent a morning excursion to Windsor Castle and Hampton Court. Sightseeing in Edinburgh, they visited the Edinburgh Cas tle. A full-day trip to the Trossachs then a flight to Dublin where they were guided by a local guide to view interesting and beautiful sights. On Thursday, July 9 they made their way back to the United States where they will relive, many times, the places they visited, the things they saw and the friends they made. MRS. KIMMIE WOOD Mrs. Wood Is Honored On Birthday Mrs. Kimmie Wood of Kings Mountain celebrated her 79th birthday Sun., July 12, with a surprise birthday dinnr at her home. Dinner and a decorated birthday cake was served. Attending the dinner with Mrs. Wood were her three sons, C.R. Wood>lr. and Mrs. Zeb Wood, and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Wood; her two daughters, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Ware and Mr. and Mrs. Franklin Brackett; her grandchildren, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Ware, Mr. and Mrs. Ricky Wood, Mr. and Mrs. Rodger Wood, Perry and Debbie Wood and Junior Brackett; her great-grandchildren, Marsha and Kelly Ware, and Ricky and Jen ny Wood. Also attending were Treasa Wood, Mr. and Mrs. Barry Wood and mr. and Mrs. Cris Wood. Mrs. Wood’s husband was the late Charlie C. Wood of Kings Mountain. MISTY TONEY Misty Toney One Year Old Misty Diane Toney, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gene Toney, was honored on her first birth day Tuesday with a party at her home on 1002 First Street, Kings Mountain. A dinner was served and following dinner a baby doll cake and ice cream was served to all of the party guests. Misty is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Toney of Kings Mountain and Mr. and Mrs. Burman Bryant of Kings Mountain.
