Alston, Mrs. Addie F. Harris, and Mrs. Louise Flagg. TWO MINUTES^ L “he? sr JUSTIFIED WITHOUT A CAUSE God tells ils In His Word that believers are “justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus” (Rom. 3:2 4). The word “freely” here, does not mean “without cost," but “without cause.” The same original word is so translated in John 15:25, where v.e find the words of Christ: “They hated Me with out a cause.” Thus sinners hated Christ “without a cause,” yet God just ifies sinners “without a cause.” How can this be? Let’s see: What had Christ done to earn the enmity of men? Nothing whatever. He had been kind and good, had helped those in dis tress, had healed their sick, had made the dumb to speak, the deaf to hear, the blind to see and the lame to leap for joy. Why, then, did they hate him: The Bible says they hated Him “without a cause,” i. e., without any cause in Him; The cause of their hatred lay in their own evii hearts. @ Btst on the other hand, what have sinners done to merit justification before God: Again Bishop Stewart Will Begin Brace AMiFs Medication The public is invited to at tend Rededicatory services at Grace AME Zion Church, Hill and Edenton Streets beginning Sunday, March 27. The Bishop W. a. Stewart of the sth. Epis copal District will bring the message at 11 a. m. His episcopacy embrasses the Albemarle and Central North Carolina Conferences. At 3 p. m. the Rev. T. H. Harris, of Rush Metropolitan AME Zion Church, will be in charge of the service. The Rev. B. S, Foust of St, Paul AME Church will render a ser vice at 7;30 Sunday evening. During the week the services will begin at 8 p. m. with the following ministers in charge of the given days: Monday, the Rev. M. They have broken His commandments every day, ly ing, stealing and committing hundreds of other sins. Yet in love God gave His Son to die for them on Calvary “that He might be just and (at the same time) the Justifier of him that believeth in Jesus” (Rom. 3:26), He loves and justifies believers “without a cause”, i. e., without any cause in them. The cause is to be found in His own compassionate heart, for “GOD IS LOVE.” Thus those who trust in Christ who died for our sins, are justified without a cause, by God's grace, through the re demption that is in Christ Je sus. “GOD COMMENDETH HIS LOVE TOWARD US IN THAT WHILE WE WERE YET SIN NERS CHRIST DIED FOR US” (Rom. 5:8). “BY THUS MAN LS PREACH ED...THE FORGIVENESS OF SINS, AND BY HIM ALL THAT BELIEVE ARE JUSTIFIED FROM ALI THINGS, FROM WHICH YE COULD NOT BE JUSTIFIED BY THE LAW OF MOSES” (Acts 13>;38, 30). pie United Church of Christ, Tuesday, the Rev, Leotha Deb nam, of Oak City Baptist. Since the truck driver couldn’t get around the procession, he joined it. Another onlooker, impressed by seeing the money truck in the center of the funeral cortege, remarked. “What do you know? You can take it with you after all!” Catholic Divest -- Man'll MEDIATION A SERMONETTt, BY COLIN DOUGLAS “Show- thy marvelous loving kindness. . .” --Psalms 17;7. Resolve today, and every day, to be kind in thought, word, and deed. Try your very best to bring only joy, only peace, only love into the lives of all the persons with whom you come into contact. Resolve to be kind, not only to your friends, but to keep yourself lovingly sensitive to the needs of those who timidly stand apart - - - for we all know that. God doe.; not want any of His children to feel a one. Resolve, when another per son makes a mistake, that you will not condemn him in your thoughts or with any other signs of displeasure - that you will act toward him as you would have him act toward you if you were in his place. And, if words of correction seem ad visable, resolve to speak them in a kindly and considerate tone of voice. Resolve that, when others are irritable, you will not add fuel to their fire by responding ir ritably - but that you will think of God, so that, your thoughts of Him may imbue you and all your words and actions. By adhering to these resolu tions, you will change and re make your world, filling it with love, joy, peace, and harmony. For if you radiate nothing but love, kindliness, patience, tol erate, and generosity toward all the persons about you, you can not help but attract these same qualities to yourself. Estab lished in the Spirit of God, you will always walk along the right path. Imbued, through prayer, with the power of His presence, your path will be cleared of all barriers, and you will achieve your goals with ease of a conquering spirit. “We love the chHdrenofGod, when we love God.” --I John 5:2.
