Less than a dozen plates have been returned because of paint peeling off. All defective tags will be replaced by the City. Citizens should remember lo bring their damaged plates with them to the second floor of the Municipal Building. The City tags are mrnufactured by the Prison Enlerprizes Department of the State Department of Corrections. Assistant Director of the Enlerprizes Department. L. B. Powell said that this is the first time something like this has ever occurred and that it is still a mystery, but that his people are investigating il. Powell also said that all defective tags will be replaced al no charge to the City. Raleigh residents are re minded lo have City tags displayed by February 15. We were gra ciously entertained by this month’s hostesses - Mesdames Thelma C. Heartley, Gaybella Harris, Ethel Jones, Merlyn W Lytle and Pearle McDonald. These hostesses served a delicious light supper. Mrs. Mary B. Graham, program chairman, presented Sirs. Lillian Alston, Housing Manager of Glenwood Towers Glenwood Towers, a high rise housing complex for senior citizens, is one of Ualeigh's newest and finest facilities Mrs. Alston told about the facilities to acquaint us with the program so that recommenda tions could be made for people needing these facilities and lo solicit assistance from NACW. Some members rendering serv ice there already are Ethel Jones, Maggie Holly, Merlyn Lytle and Mary B. Graham. Other members showed enlhu- siasium lo render service. Holley To Participate In Program ELIZABETH CITY - Leonard Holley, a junior at Elizabeth C’iiy Stale University, has been selected to participate in the Brookhaven Semester Pro gram. during the spring of this semester. The selection of Holley, a physical science and mathematics major, increases the selection of ECSU science majors for participation in scieniitic training programs. Last summer, Alma Jenkins, sophomore biology major, par ticipated in Meharry Medical College's bio medical sciences program The program at Brookhaven is being sponsored in coopera tion with the i3-member Regional Cooperative Associa tion in Science and Mathemat ics.
