A group of fifth grade students white water rafting on the Nantahala River Charlotte Jewish Day School students participate in many excit ing field trips during their years at the school, particularly in the spring. Second graders went to Atlanta on their first overnight trip with CJDS. Special stops in Atlanta include visiting their pen pals and having lunch at The Greenfield Academy, touring the Georgia Aquarium, and sleeping with the pandas at The Atlanta Zoo. The Schiele Museum of Natural History in Gastonia is the overnight destination for our third grade class. Students enjoy all the museum’s indoor and outdoor exhibits and spend the night under the stars in our area’s only Planetarium. As part of their stud ies of North Carolina, the 4th grade class visits Raleigh to expe rience our state’s capital in action. The 5th grade camping trip is one that every CJDS student looks for ward to. Two nights in the Nantahala National Forest - a ropes course, whitewater rafting, building their own tents and fires, and preparing their own food - makes this trip a tremendous experience that the kids talk about for years. The 2nd grade class at the Atlanta Zoo The spring is also the time that we begin to plan and prepare for the upcoming school year. We are excited to welcome many new families to the CJDS community and to continue working with our current students and their fami lies. If you are interested in hear ing more about the exciting opportunities at the Charlotte Jewish Day School, please call us here at 704-366-4558. Happy Spring. ^
