short dedication speech by Mr. Harry H. Straus. All of the families of the men to whom this Memorial is being dedicated have been invited to attend the service. A guard of honor, consisting of eight Ecusta employees in uniform, will as sist in the ceremonies. The Memorial is located in a beautiful area, set aside on the west end of the lake at Camp Sapphire. The beautiful monument, with an ap propriate bronze plaque on it, contains a dedi cation and the names of all of our employees who lost their lives in World War II. Immediately behind this Memorial will be erected a flag pole which will be the official flag of Camp Sapphire during the summer months. The following information about the Camp Sapphire children’s program for this summer should be noted carefully and both parents and children will want to begin plans immediately for the youngsters to attend these fine activities. GENERAL INFORMATION The boy’s coaching school, band camp, and girls’ choral and recreation school will again be held. The activities are open to children whose parents are connected with our companies. There is no charge, of course,, for any activity, and no special ability or qualifications are expected of the children. BOYS COACHING SCHOOL Under the direction of Jack Alexander and a capable staff, this popular activity will open July 12 and will continue on Monday, Wednesday and Fridays until August 20. Starting time is 9:30. a. m. Boys from 7-15 invited. Emphasis is placed on swimming, calisthenics, and major sports— baseball, softball, tennis, etc. Enrollments expected to equal or exceed last year’s record of 150. BAND CAMP Will open Monday, June 14, and continue Monday, Wednesday and Fridays until July 23. Bus schedule same as last year. This program un der direction of John Eversman and the music staff. GIRLS' CHORAL AND RECREATION SCHOOL Please note a major change in the time of this activity. It will be held in the afternoon this year, starting at 1:45 p. m. on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Opening day is also June 14, with closing scheduled July 23. Ages 9-16 invited. Recreation Director John Eversman and his staff in charge. This year limited piano instruction will be offered to piano students who have had some training and would like more. Children interested in enrolling for piano instruction should make application at the Recreation Office. For example, girls enrolling in the choral and recreation program need not necessarily be musi cally inclined. There’ll be plenty of varied acti vities for all and we stress again, every employees’ child within the age limits outlined below is in vited and urged to attend. All three camps will require a parent’s release for the child’s participation. This will be a simple form and will be sent to the parents for signing, The above scene from a previous Coaching School is likely to bring this remark from impatient youngsters, "I can hardly wait until July 12.” 3
