He said the problems in our society demand that we take a positive approach to finding solutions for them. “There are too many persons who have lost the positive approach to problems and I call on you to accentuate the positive and eliminate the negative as you go forward in life,” McAllister said. In the business session of the Annual Meeting of the Fayet teville State University National Alumni Association, President Nehemiah Parker stated that Mr. B. A. McGeachy has been appointed Chairman of the University Alumni Centennial Committee. Henderson) I I II'V FSU TRACKMEN RECEIVE ALL- AMERICA HONORS FAYETTEVILLE- Two Fayetteville State University Bronco track stars have received national recognition for their participation in the NCAA Division II meet held recently at Charleston, Illinois. James Godwin, a two sport athlete at FSU, and James Wooten earned All- America track honors as a result of fifth place finishes in their events in the track meet. “I think that this is one of the finest things that has happened to the track program at FSU and to these fine athletes,” said head track coach Walter Johnson. GIRLS BASKETBALL TEAM Godwin, a junior from Fayetteville, North Carolina, placed fifth in the long jump with a leap of 24 - SVz while Goldsboro, North Carolina freshman James Wooten ran the 220 21.2 for fifth. To qualify for All- America, athletes had to finish in the top six in the finals of their events. In addition to par ticipating in track at FSU, Godwin is an outstanding football player scoring over twelve touchdowns last year for the Broncos.
