A. j Mrs.Morgan Speaks''On Bocks Are Keys*' "A Bunch of Keys,” a playlet designed to emphasize the theme of Book Week, was presented at P. T. A,, November 9, by the seventh grade under the direction of tliss Rachel Bissette, teacher, followed by a talk, "Books are Keys,” by IJrs. M* F, Morgan, In her talk, Mrs. Morgan pointed out that from childhood to old age books are keys unlocking the doors to fun, recreation, general knowledge, infor mation on any knov;-how sub ject, wisdom of the ages, and other "corridors” leading to understanding and appreciation of all phases of life. The Glee Club, directed by Mrs. Mary Tichenor, gave t\/o numbers during the evening. PAVING DRIVE During the business hour a comiBittee composed of Leamon Tarap, Iliko Griffin, Ed Cozart, Broadiis Glover, and Julian Finch was ap pointed to supervise the paving of the cirj;alar drive in front of the school building, Mr. Finch reported that plans called for the paving after the new year. In the meantime the drive will be graded and graveled, BICYCLE RkCK A motion made that the association have a bicycle rack built brought out the information that the Lions Club had planned to donate the materials and the agri culture boys to build the rack. In the gramm-ar grades, the seventh grade won the dollar for having the larg est number of parents pres ent. In high school, Mrs. Laurine Lassiter's tenth grade won for th« thi rd cons««^uti.ve • TeachefsAbsentfinDmSchool Owing to sickness, Mrs, Florabelle Bynum, !!rs, Bffie Hagv'ood, Mrs, Mary Tichenor, and Miss Doris Harper have each been absent from teaching duties this month. According to M.W, IVeaver, principal, the school has not been bothered before so early in the year be cause of sickness.
