February 12, 1960 Sibley Is Named . Bible President; Hatley Is Veep Bible Club officers for this se- niester were installed last week and prizes were given to the three members who had the highest number of points for the first semester. The officers installed were Ivan Sibley,.president; Mary HiU Hat ley, vice-president; Judy Harris, secretary; Kenneth Huneycutt, treasurer; Diane Griffin, general representative; Joyce Hunycutt, historian; and Annette Lowder, reporter to the state Bible Club newspaper, “Sharing, Jr.” L. P. records were given last month to Harry Whitley, who had the most points during the first semester; Annette Lowder, who Was second; and Ivan Sibley, who Was third. The members obtain these points by being present at the meetings, participating in Bi ble Club activities, and serving the club in various other ways. ' The executive committee re vised the club Constitution and this revision* was accepted by the club at last month’s afternoon meeting. This'revision eliminat ed the editor of the local Bible Club paper and replaced him with a reporter to the state pa per. Bobby Harris commented, “Rog er is just a,poet and don’t know it.” John Burchette quipped, “Well, his feet show it; they’re sure long fellows.” Students, Grounds Made Beautiful Through Council The Studer^t Council has boon extremely busy since returning from Christmas holidays. First on the list they appoint ed Kenny Furr and Ann Whitley to find a way to help keep the trash off, the parking lot This school - wide program has not been put into effect as of yet. Wilfred Hetzel was invited to put on ^ show of freak basket ball shooting. Most of the stu dent body turned out at 15c a ticket to .see this work of art, as It was held during second pe riod. Each homeroom elected a King and Queen to represent them for the March of Dimes crusade. Boxes with the candidate’s name on it were placed where students could contribute for the one of their choice. Each penny count ed one vote. The votes were then tabulated and a separate King and Queen were chosen to run for each class. The winners, Kenneth Thompson and Elaine Morris, both seniors, were crown ed King and Queen of the teen age dance. Dress-up day' once a week is now in effect, the chosen day be ing Friday. Students are asked every Friday to dress up or try to look a little neater than be- Ice is lighter than water, \ the Student Council hopes that students will do their part.
