Page 10, West Craven Highlights, December 20, 1984 Educators of the Month The New Bern-Craven County Chamber of Com merce in conjunction with the New Bern-Craven County Board of Education spotlights “Educators of the Month" for December 1984. Miss Matlyn Bryant, Counselor at New Bern Matlyn Bryant High School and Miss Donna Faye Westbrook, teacher at Fort Barnwell Elementary School. Miss Bryant resides in New Bern. She is a graduate of East Carolina University where she received her BS degree in Special Education and her Master’s degree in Counselor Education. She is an active member of Ebenezer Presby terian Church, serving as Deacon and Youth Advisor. She is a member of NCAE, North Carolina Personnel and Guidance Association and North Carolina School Counselor Association. Miss Westbrook resides in Grifton, N,C. She received her BS and Master's degree in Elementary Education from East Carolina University, Greenville, N.C. She is a member of Riverside Metho dist Church. Miss Westbrook knows what skills children need to be well educated and teaches by example many things that cannot be learned from a textbook.
