Religion Calendar Happening Now Women's Revival Life Changing Transformation Church Ministries, 2001 E. 25th St., will hold its Women's Revival. Today (May 22), Pastor Gloria Lindsey of Solid Rock United Bibleway Church of Christ will speak at 7 p.m., and on May 23. Pastor Tyressa Carlton of Arc of Safety Deliverance Ministries of Charlotte will speak at 7 p.m. Rev. Alice Mitchell is the host pastor. Group marking anniversary with concert SPECIAL TO THE CHRONICLE Willie Mason and Friends will celebrate their 5th Anniversary at 5 p.m. on Sunday, June 1 at Galilee Missionary Baptist Church, 4129 Northampton Drive, where Dr. Nathan E. Scovens is pastor. The event is free and open to the public. "The Year of Grace" is the theme of the con cert celebration, which will feature the group and special worship leader Bishop John C. Williams, senior pastor of the El Bethel Cathedral in South Boston. Va., as well as husband and wife duo Mime Matrimony of Concord. "As 1 reflect over these past five years, my heart is filled with such gratitude for the Lord's blessings upon our min istry! I worship the way I do because of the Sovereign God we serve; He is amazing," said Mason, founder and director of the group. The community based group consists of talented Triad vocalists and musicians who are enthusiastic and dedicat ed ministers of music. The group has been blessed to perform in concert across the state and in Florida, Georgia, Illinois, New Jersey, New York, Virginia and Tennessee. SPECIAL TO THE CHRONICLE Exodus United Baptist Church, 2000 Wilbur St., will celebrate the third anniversary of Pastor Alvin E. Carlisle next week. On Wednesday, May 28, Pastor Phillip McCloud and the Fresh Fire Ministries family will be the guests at 7 p.m. On Saturday, May 31 at noon. Exodus will honor Pastor Carlisle with a luncheon at the church. To close out the celebra tion, Pastor Anthony B. Wilson of Cathedral of Refuge will be the guest on Sunday, June 1 at the 11 a.m. morning service. All are welcome to attend these celebratory events. Church salutes graduates CHRONICLE STAFF REPORT First Waughtown Baptist Church honored 10 high school and col lege graduates during its annual College Day service on Sunday, May 18. Three of the high school honorees received $1,000 scholarships. They are: ? Baajah Mohammed, who attends Penn-Griffin School for the Arts in High Point and will attend East Carolina University to pursue a (degree in music performance and therapy. She is the daughter of Latonya Moore. ? Fatima McKoy, who attends Glenn High School and will attend East Carolina University to major in biology.
