Accompanying the group were their teacher, Mr. Edgar Wells and Mrs. Bodell Outlaw, Mrs. Carl Howell and Mrs. Buck Hill. Ben. Turner Party Ben S. Turner was honored on his thirteenth birthday, with a par ty, by his parents, Mr. and Mra. Faison Turner at their home near Pink Hill, Tuesday night, March 15. Fifteen classmates and his teach er, Miss Bessie Kornegay, of the B. F. Grady school attended the de lightful affair. Games were enjoy ed and guests were served ice cream cake, Easter candy, potato chips and drinks. Party hats were given as favors. , The .honoree received a number of attractive and useful gifts. Farrior attended a Presbyterian committee meeting in Whiteville Friday. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Williams re cently visited Mrs. William's sister. The Pink Hill High School Fu ture Homemakers of America held its annual banquet in the cafeteria of the school on a recent night. , The devotional was given by Nor. ma Ray Stroud and the mothers were welcomed by Janice Harper, president of the chapter. Mrs. G. C. Pierce gave the response. The Emblem service was given by Emo- gene Williams, Barbara Hill, Wen. onah Jones, Sue Albritton, Phoebe Murphy, Annie -Laura Hill, Estelle Carter and Ludie Mae Turner and was closed by the FHA prayer song. The club history was given by San dra Broadhurst. A number of mu sical selections were rendered. Joyce Murphy outlined, "What FHA Means to me," followed by the pres. entation of Junior Homemakers De grees. Nine received a key signi fying this honor. Guests present other than the mothers were Mrs. A. H. Haddock, mother of Miss Haddock, the chap ter advisor, and Principal Coye Lewis. Mrs. Johnny Wagoner and family in Raleigh and- were accompanied home by little Miss Joyce Wagner, niece of Mrs. Williams for a visit. Mrs. F. J. Bostic of Kenansville, mother of Mrs. Williams has been visiting in the home this week, also. Mr. and Mrs. Amos Howard vis ited their daughter, Miss Verna Howard at State Hospital in Ra leigh Friday. Mr. and Mrs. Tom Davis, Mr. and Mrs. L. H. Turner, Becky and L. H. Jr., and Debbie returned during the week end from Washington, D. C. where they spent several days sightseeing and viewing the cherry blossoms. Miss Ann Ruffln, senior at Mars Hill College. Mars Hill, Nrc, is spending several days with her pa rents, Dr. and Mrs. D. W. Ruffin. Mrs. W. H. Jones and Mrs. Helen Turner spent several days recently at the Jones cottage at Carolina Beach. . Mr. and Mrs. W. W. Maxwell and Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Hussey have returned from an extended trip to Florida. The town, sometime ago, installed n municipal water system, and pro viously the higher rate was neces sary to take care of the installation expenses which the operational sys tem was unable to do.
