DEADLINES: Weddings & Engagements, Thursday 5p.m. Other Social Items, Monday 5 p.m. Lamont-Beckworth pledge wedding vows Patricia Anne Beckworth and Timothy Morris Lamont were united in marriage, 3 p.m. Sunday, May 26, at Peterson Presbyterian Church in Columbia, South Carolina. The Reverend Charles L. Taylor performed the double ring ceremony. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Maxwell Beckworth of Columbia. She graduated from A.C. Flora High School and is attending the Univer sity of South Carolina. She is employed by Standard Federal Savings and Loan Association. The bridegroom, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Malloy Lamont of Columbia, was graduated from A.C. Flora High School and at tended the University of South Carolina. He is employed by Con stan Inc. Mrs. Brenda Willis presented the music with Hasting Henderson as soloist. Cynthia Mae Beckworth, sister of the bride, was maid of honor. Julie Metz Walker, Judith Foley Lipscomb, and Laura Whitaker Hogan served as bridesmaids. They wore long dresses of orchid chiffon and carried bouquets of mixed flowers. The groom chose his father, Charles Malloy Lamont, as best man. Groomsmen were Sidharth D. Amin, Kenneth I. Metz Jr. and E. Russell Lipscomb Jr. Following the wedding ceremony a reception was held in the church social hall by Queens Cupboard. Assisting with the reception were Miss Lillian Blake and Miss Pam Henderson. After a wedding trip to the Bahamas the couple will reside at Rt. 2, Prosperity, South Carolina on Lake Murray. The rehearsal dinner was given by Mr. and Mrs. Charles Malloy Lamont 8 p.m., May 25 at Fort Jackson Officers' Club. Rockfish News By Polly Barnard Considering the weather, atten dance was excellent for morning worship service at Galatia Presbyterian Church the past Sun day. The children enjoyed their sermon. The Community extends sym pathy to the family of William G. Wright who died Tuesday, June 25th. Graveside service was Wednesday afternoon at the Tabernacle Bapist Church Cemetery officiated by Rev. Carl Strickland of Rockingham. ? ? * Rockfish Extention Home makers Club met at "Ben's Ten" home of Mary Benkosky, Tuesday June 25th at 9:30 a.m. Mrs. Benkowsky, club president called the meeting to order. Mrs. Amos Grant led the devotion. Mrs. Anne Sessoms was in charge of the program which was about "seldom used and exotic" foods. After the meeting adjourned everyone enjoyed a luncheon and social hour. ? ? ? Mr. and Mrs. Duncan Mc Craney, Carolyn McCraney, Mrs. Jean Lisenby and son Michael and Mrs. Evelyn Fields attended the 6Sth State Annual singing conven tion at Benson. Misses Donna Newton, Sheree Boone, Mrs. P.W. Palmer, Mrs. Lowell Harris, Mr. and Mrs. George Balch and Mrs. Lawrence Barnard attended the wedding of Kim Kiveris and Mark Parsons at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Fayetteville Saturday afternoon. Boman-Bryan marry On June 21, Teresa Gail Bryan was married to Larry Wayne Bowman Jr. The wedding took place in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ron Ellis in the Blue Springs Com munity. The Reverend Frank Lloyd Jr. officiated. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Bryan of the Stonewall Community. She graduated from Hoke County High School and from Robeson Technical College. She was employed by David's Food Stores, Inc. of Raeford. The groom is the son of Larry Wayne Bowman Sr. of Union, South Carolina and Barbara Bowman of Statesville. He is a graduate of Statesville Senior High School. He is employed by Heilig Meyers Company. He has been working in Raeford and is being promoted to a position in Thom son, Ga. The Ellis living room was lit with candles for the 9:30 p.m. ceremony. Vows were made before an antique mantle which held magnolia and candles. Magnolia was banked on the hearth. A mir ror over the mantle reflected the faces of the bride and groom. The bride, given in marriage by her brother, Lynn Nelson Bryan, wore a long gown of ivory. The round neckline tied at the shoulders and the skirt was accordian-pleated. She wore a bridal wreath of white flowers, greenery, and ivory ribbon in her hair. She carried a cascade of or chids, lily of the valley, babies' breath, and greenery. ? . b,i? m ? -"^i Mrs. Larry Wayne Bowman Jr. The matron of honor was Mrs. Tammie Hendrix Ellis. She wore royal blue silk in a short dress with high neck, long sleeves, and a full skirt. Best man was the groom's father, Larry Wayne Bowman Sr. Mr. and Mrs. Ron Ellis hosted a cake cutting. A colonial blue color scheme was used in the decora tions. The wedding cake was serv ed with nuts and a ginger ale punch. The couple will make their home in Thomson, Ga.
