This pro gram was sponsored by the Sisterhood in cooperation with the Afro-American Cultural Center. Rinky Glanzman was in charge of arrangements. The confirmation class’s pilgrimage the weekend of March 15-17 was a visit to the Hebrew Union College in Cin cinnati, Ohio. With confir- mands from other reform con gregations around the coun try, they attended a Friday evening worship service and a tour of the campus, featuring the rare book room, the art gallery, che archives £uid the library. There were also discussions led by student rab bis. On Saturday evening a Havdalah service was held at the Plum Street Temple. The religious school stu dents attended a model seder on March 21. A brief sabbath and festival service preceded the congrega tional seder on April 5, which was well attended by members and guests. Both services were conducted by Rabbi Krantz- ler. Installation of the Sister hood’s officers and board for 1985-86 was held at the regular sabbath morning ser vice on April 13. This was followed by a lovely luncheon. Jerry Helton, a member of the music faculty at Winthrop College and the temple’s vocal soloist, provided the enter tainment. The new officers of Sister hood are: Judy Perlin, presi dent; Lisa Foley, membership vp; Madeline Joffe, program vp; Ruth Lubin, fund raising vp; Pat Shapiro, treasurer; Doris Edelstein, financial secretary; Jane Heller, cor responding secretary; Muriel Lintz, recording secretary. — Roland Heller Winners of Hebrew Academy’s Raffle: ‘‘A Trip to Israel” are: James and Beverly Seiferheld Yours Truly Needlepoint Spring Sale Graduated Reductions All Painted Canvases and Kits at LYNN LERNER'S 3802 Columbine Circio Wo all proceeds to the Foundation Maniscni w Adrienne Rosenberg, Director of Jewish Social Services, with the 22 Passover baskets prepared by Ha Lailah Chapter of B*nai B’rith Women and delivered by Jewish Social Services to needy and isolated Jewish persons. Older Adult Luncheon During the month of March, Ha Lailah was the cosponsor of the older adult luncheon with the Charlotte Jewish Federation. The event was held on Sunday, March 10 from 4 - 6 p.m. at Temple Beth El. Ha Laileih members “cook ed up a storm” and served a delicious hot supper for the older adults in the commxmity. Musical entertainment was provided by clsirinetist. Dr. Jay Kirsch, and guitarist, Dr. Jim Bedrick. Charlotte senior adults, Ha Lailah members and their families spent the afternoon singing and dancing and socializing with one another. Many thanks to Dr. Kirsch and Dr. Bedrick and Brenda Manes for orches trating the event. Passover Baskets Again this year Ha Lailah sponsored “Passover Holiday Baskets” for Jewish families with special needs. The idea behind this project is to pro vide special families with addi tional support during the Passover season. Ha Lailah members collected food and prepared the baskets which were then distributed by Social Services of the Char lotte Jewish Federation. Installation On April 16, Ha Lailah held an installation dinner at Jona than’s.
