The Charlotte Jewish News - February 2015 - Page 22 A Recipe for Happiness We all spend lots of time and money on things to make our selves and those we eare about happy. We throw parties, go on trips, spend on gifts, enjoy good food, underwrite edueation and aim for top-noteh healtheare. But did you know that the most important in gredient to happiness is aetually free? It’s ealled FRIENDSHIP. At Friendship Cirele, we’re in the business of eultivating friend ships, so we thought we’d share a simple and easy DIY reeipe for friendship: 1. Find a friend. Sounds simple, right? Stop running after that pop ular guy/gal that hardly notiees you, that’s not the plaee to start. Look for someone who may seem lonely or like they’re going through a tough time in life. 2. Make time to hang out. It’s not just about the venue or the ae- tivity. It’s about the eompany. So don’t be distraeted while you’re together, ignore your phone, and you’ll have a more meaningful time. 3. Show your friend you really eare. Instead of sharing all your own thoughts, feelings and eon- eems, make an emphasis on help ing your friend feel important and worthy of friendship. 4. Reeognize your happiness! Friendship Cirele eultivates re lationships between ehildren with speeial needs and teen friends in our eommunity. Friendship Cirele is a benefieiary ageney of the lew- ish Federation of Greater Char lotte.
