April 4, 2008 \ The Clarion NEWS Page 3 Totally Fabricated Story of the Week: Ethiopian Ambassador tours Brevard College Ambassador refuses to eat meal in Myers Dining Hall By Joseph Chilton and Zach Porch Foreign Affairs Reporters Ethiopian Ambassador Samuel Assefa toured the Brevard College campus last week, sitting in on classes, attending a Brevard College baseball game, and taking in a meal in Myers Dining Hall. Assefa was impressed with what he saw of the campus, with one exception. “This is a very pristine campus and everybody was very hospitable to me, “ Assefa said. “But let me tell you, the food in the cafeteria was completely inedible. Don’t let anybody fool you, the starving children in my country would not be grateful to have that food.” Assefa entered Myers Dining Hall Tuesday night during “Taco Tuesday,” but according to a source that chose to remain anonymous, ended up eating ramen noodles in a student’s room in Beam Hall. According to Assefa, the eating conditions at Myers Dining Hall have spurred him to action on a new cause. “1 know Sally Struthers personally, and 1 intend to use my coimections to ensure that a campaign be started to feed students on this campus,” Assefa said. “1 hope that people know that for just a dollar a day they can feed a starving Tornado.” Student-run Big Band Dance a big success Photos by A. Pressley More than 200 students showed up Saturday night for the Big Band Dance. The Dance, heid in the Reserve Dining i-iaii, was compieteiy pianned and put on by students. The event was sponsored by the Viiiage RHC.
