sweeper, Ed, the ropes!!! Good for the waist line, Claude, and don't for get spring cleaning at home. Going fishing, you say? Oh, Doris!!! Harley Jones left all the boarders quite sad when he left them behind to return to his mountain home near Cherokee. We wish for him the best of everything! Ruth Fulton was sparklin' more than the dinner ring that husband, J.G. , gave her for her birthday. Have you seen it? ? Oh, boy! Just got the word that Bill Sink has started his garden. Can just taste those tomatoes now! ! ! Spring, ah. Spring! ! In this de partment, you can always tell it's here by the hair styles. Not only new styles, but colors, too. Let's see, now--how 'bout Mildine McCaskill's "Jackie" hair-do--Avah Snider's short cut--Ina Blackwell's trim--and Elease Jolly as a red head. Perhaps the one least pleased was, you know who, when her new permanent was so kinky she couldn't do anything with it! All in all, a new style really helps. Another good way to welcome Spring is to come up with a back yard tan like Faye Smith's! Now that I'm really jealous of. Most becoming! ! ! We really enjoyed the cake Elaine Smith baked to herald the first day of Spring! Glad to see Phyllis Jones and June Hayes at their machines after their bouts with a virus. Nice, too, to know Hazel Thomas is improving after her trip to the hospital and we wish for Elaine Smith a speedy recovery. Say, who's getting a new Easter outfit this year? I've heard a few say, "I didn't wear the one I had last year, " or, "I'm wearing the one I had last year, " or, "I'm wearing the one Iwore two years ago. " Bet these will have to get busy putting up hems. . . Now, where's my needle ? ? ? When Mona McCormick, of the Seaming Department observed her birthday recently, her friends didn't let it slip by unnoticed. The look on her face was proof enough that she didn't have the slightest suspicion of the surprise birthday dinner--cake, candles, gifts and all--the girls pre pared for her. Happy Birthday, Mona, and have lots more of them! Helping Mona McCormick cele brate her birthday are, left to right. Dot Everhart, Margie McDowell, W. L. Voncannon, Mrs. McCormick, W. D. Cornelison, Bernice Kearns and Viola Jones. - 1 2-
