work, and service to our customers, CLIFFORD HOUGH RETIRES Mr. Millis stated, "and I know I can always count on every member of this team for its continued cooperation. " J. W. Snotherly, personnel direc- tor, recognized supervision for its continued support and diligence in the promotion of accident prevention. "We cannot relax our efforts in our safety program one minute, " he said. "We must continue to train every employee the proper and safe way to do his job and we must continue to follow up every situation to measure the effec tiveness of our training and super vision. " Snotherly gave much of the credit of the outstanding performances to the appointed safety committees who, while having only the authority to recommend strongly, have been the watchdogs of our housekeeping and working condi tions. "Your recommendations have been most effective and we urge you to leave nothing unreported, " he con cluded. Mrs. Stewart operates the Blue Marlin, but Bob has retired . . . he just sits and fishes. Gee! What a life. . .Before his retirement. Bob was employed in Plant #7. Shown above are Mr. and Mrs. Clif ford Hough. Clifford retired May 3 on the basis of age. Easter Monday, 1941, Clifford Hough came to High Point from Jack sonville, N. C. He had been a tractor driver for a construction company for 17 years, and when his job was com pleted in Jacksonville, he came to High Point to seek a job where he would not have to move from town to town so often. He worked in furniture plants for 5 years. On August 8, 1946, he came to Plant §2 of Adams-Millis on Grimes Street and worked continuously at the Grimes Street plant until his retire ment. When the hosiery division moved from the Grimes Street plant to English Street, Clifford remained at Grimes Street with the MAC Panel Division. Mr. and Mrs. Hough own their home at 517 Elwood. They are mem bers of the Mt. Vernon Church on Hoover Street where Clifford is a member of the senior choir. Hough was fireman-watchman and stated he had enjoyed his job at Adams-Millis more than any other job he had worked. "I wouldn't want to work for a better company, "he said. His plans are to live a simple life in his retirement.
