PLANT NEWS Plant 1: Elizabeth Shelton spent her vaca tion attending the John Wesley Camp meeting, and also found time to take her granddaughter for a visit to Hang ing Rock. Lillie Short visited her two daugh ters and mother-in-law in Beckley, West Virginia. Vicki Jones went to White Lake and got lost onthe way home. She also visited at Fort Bragg. Lelia Lamm went fishing and caught several big ones (they didn't get away)--said they surely were good. Virginia Thompson visited in Charleston, South Carolina. Marjorie Bivens and her family visited their son, Robert, in Hampton, Virginia. He is with the Army Mili tary Intelligence. They also went to Virginia Beach and Williamsburg. Barbara Pratt, second-shift knit ter, became Mrs. James T. Streater during the week of the Fourth. Con gratulations! We hope your life to gether will be a joyous one. Robert Yates, Raymond Stamey and Louise Rabon, all of the knitting department, are sick. Hope they can come back to work real soon. Guy Wallace and his wife spent the Fourth at Cherry Grove Beach. The Harold Driggers went to Julian Price Memorial Camp Grounds and to Charlotte Camp Meeting during the holidays. Mildred Carter and her husband visited Boone--on a motorcycle, Anna Whitmire went to Brevard and Lake Toxaway (near Asheville) for her vacation. Mary Rake straw spent her holi days in Virginia. Geneva Hassell and her husband enjoyed the Daytona 500, as well as Atlanta and Columbus, Georgia dur ing their vacation. Lucille Miller and her husband spent part of their holidays at their Holden's Beach cottage. Ethel Graves went fishing at Ocean Isle. Richard Moser and his family spent several days of their vacation at Ocean Drive and then traveled to Williams burg, Virginia and took part in their Fourth of July celebration. Leo Griffin enjoyed a vacation at Kerr Lake--fishing, at Lake Norman-- fishing, and then he took his wife deep sea fishing at Myrtle Beach. Modell Stamey visited her daughter and her family in Seattle, Washington; she has a new granddaughter there. lone Calhoun enjoyed being with her son and his family in Arizona; she, too, has a new granddaughter. Margaret Russell entertained her mother (from Chesapeake, Virginia). Ann Lewis and her family visited in the mountains. Ruth Paige entertained friends and relatives at High Rock Lake. Plant 2: It's good to have Alice Coker ham back at her job. She has been out of work due to the illness of her father, who is now much improved. Rosie Creed has also returned--after an illness of two weeks. Welcome back! Hazel Hill is recuperating from injuries sustained in an automobile accident June 10. She has returned to her home after two weeks of hospi talization. Hope she can return soon. Betty Jean Jones returned from her Myrtle Beach vacation saying she had a good time even though it was too hot. Lizzie Murray spent a few days just "lazying" around in the sun and reading at Claytor Lake.
