AMCO NEWS--Adams-Millis Corporation life, he must keep his health in satisfactory con dition, Adams-Millis Texturing &c Dyeing is one of the few companies in this area to employ a full-time registered nurse to provide health maintenance programs for all employees. Ellen Scott, the division's nurse, not only administers job-related programs suchas first aid treatment for injuries and illnesses, pre-employment health screening, and audiometric testing and hearing protection; she also administers special programs such as annual physical examinations, cancer and tuberculosis preventionand detection, and hypertension examinations for all personnel. In addition, a referral program for employees troubled with emotional, financial, legal, alco holic and drug-related problems has become a part of this program aimed at the employees' total well-being. Well-trained, well-informed, and healthy personnel make good candidates for movement to higher-level jobs. Adams-Millis Texturing & Dyeing believes in the principle of advancement from within. In fact, most supervisory, instruc tor, and other positions requiring extra skill and responsibility have been filled through promotion of employees already within the company. An important part of a texturing operator's job is to thread yarn through the machine when an end breaks while in process. The first step in the texturing process is to place supply packages of raw yarn on the textur ing machine to allow for continuous operation.
