AMCO NEWS--Adams-Millis Corporation OPERATION ( Cont’d. ) Strict quality control and yarn development standards are a cornerstone of Adams-Millis Texturing Dyeing's success. Becky Woods, laboratory technician, is d y e i n g a knitted sle eve of yarn for further testing. Corenlius Page, development technician, is marking a sample package that has been textured. Some textured polyester yarns go into spe cial prog rams that require precise quality characteristics. After texturing, a sample from each package is knitted, dyed, and tested to in sure that proper specifications are met. Lucy Pridgen is shown setting the yarn up for knitting. r As yarn is sent from the Texturing Plant to the Dye Plant, it is classified into groups accord ing to size and weight of the package, Juanita Wilson inspects the yarn and assigns it to the proper classification. r-| .D Before the yarn can be loaded into the dye kier, it must be compacted to allow for more uni form flow of the dyes. Left, operating the yarn press are Tommy Payne and Freddie Thompson. Center, George Braswell carefully loads a carrier of textured yarn into a kier by means of an overhead hoist. Right, following the dyeing, he removes the yarn and takes it to the drying operation. ^
