"The ^ajnpus Echo" SOCIETY NEV/S EUREIvA SCIENCE CLUB On Feb. 18, Prof. Pattei-sun, addressed the Eureka Science Cluh on the subject of "Genoi-al Science." Dui'ing the course cf his lecture, he emphatically pointed out the requirements for scientific study. It was a means of inspiration to all present. THE VIRGINIANS This club was organized by the.students of N. C, C., whose homes are in Virginia, As Virginians we will be : Virtuous, Religious, Interested in up-lift, Good-Natured, Intelligent, Noble, Invariable, Ambitious, Neighborly, Sincere in serving. UTOPIA CLUB NEWS / A group cf students met in Chidley Hall on Februai'y 18, and organized a club under the name of "Utopia." Those present v/ere: the Misses Forrest, Blake, McCall, Smith, Ruffin, Bruner, Banner- man, McAden, Mclver and Messrs. Jones, Busby, Johnson, Davis, Drew, Harper and Parker, The following officers were elected: Pres., G. Busby, V. Pres., E. McHall, Sec,, H. Smith, Ass’t. Sec., K. Ruffin, Treas. L. Blake, Bus. Mgr., R. Jcnes, Reporter, M, Johnson. The Utopia-Club enjoyed a social club given on Feb. 18. The entertainment consisted of games, marches, and a program, which included a group of popular songs sung by Messrs. 0. Davis, and R. Johes. A very beautiful s.axophone solo was rendered by Mr, J. Davis. A pleasant evening was spent by all. It is the pur pose of the ciub to bring about a better social status on the campus. LE CERCLE 'FRANCaIS On Feb. 21 a most enjoyable afternoon was spent by themem- bers Oj the French Club when the Junior class presented a French drama, "Faim Commi Un Frand Inventeur." Misses Everett and Cun- diff are becoming French stars of N. C. C. It is expected that they will compete with the fame of Sarah Bernhardt and Eleanora Duse. Plano selections were rendered by Mr. Parker and Miss Anthony; a clarinet solo by Mr. Hargraves and uocal numbers by Miss Walton and Mr. Davis. Literary numbers were given by Mr, Stitt and Misses Johes and Smith. Miss McCall, the president, continued her very interesting talk on literature appreciation, ^The Juniors are to be congratulated for their very in teresting program and their successful presentation of the amus ing French Play,
