Page 6 The Pendulum Thursday, April 18, 1985 A huntin’ we will go! Children of the faculty started their Easter April 3 by hunting Easter eggs placed around the campus near the library. Ptoias t>y Joe Coco SGA continued from page 1 ecutive offices. Almost everyone in the senate agreed that the qualifications were necessary. “A judicial committee meeting was scheduled and was attended by only one member of the com mittee,” said Moser. The pro blem occurred when the one member in attendance to the judicial meeting wanted to in clude a deletion of a line in the constitution which states that “all executive officers of the SGA shall be members of the rising junior or the rising senior class. ’' Moser said, “The bill was written up to include the qualifications of the executive of ficers, including the deletion of that particular qualification that students must be rising juniors or seniors. This bill was presented at the March 21 senate meeting. “At this time, there was a pro cedural error in the meeting,” said Moser. “Most of the bills that are passed by the senate have to be approved by a majority of the senators in attendance at the meeting. But this was an amend ment to the constitution, and amendments to the constitution have to be approved by two-thirds of the entire senate.” Moser said that the bill passed with a majority of the senators that were present, but the error was brought out the following week by the senators who attend ed the meeting. They went to Dean of Student Affairs Ron Klef)cyk in order to correct the error after having informed the president about the procedural er ror. Moser said that he called a special meeting of the senate for April 2. “What I wanted to do was consider the amendment, and consider aHowing rising sophomores to run for executive office, as separate matters,” said Moser. “The bill that had been passed incorrectly in the previous meeting was reintroduced, and a separate bill to allow sophomores to run for executive office was added to the agenda.” The amendment that was rein troduced failed to passed after a long debate. Moser said that the amendment to include qualifications of ex ecutive officers will be con sidered again. He said, “I hope that it will pass, because remov ed from the issues that were in volved this time because of the time factor of the elections, it is a general consensus that the qualifications are a good idea.” Voting will be in both dining halls and in Long Student Center on April 22-24. Votes will be tabulated on the evening of April 24, and the new officers will be sworn in |he next da^. Pendulum Classified Advertising Do you have a car, bicycle, textbooks or clothes to sell?
