Final Rotary And Kiwanis Honor Recipients Chosen Proud Graduating Oass Of ’73 . . . May will certainly be an un forgettable month for , this year’s seniors, as It is their last full month of attendance in high school. It will be es pecially memorable for this months’ Rotary Couple, La Vern Williams and Ronnie Os borne, and Kiwanis Boy, David Jordan. LaVern Williams LaVern is an industrious girl with plenty of work to do to keep her busy. She is known around school for her pleasant personality and her willingness to work. During her spare time sh6 likes to read, but she finds there isn't much time for this. LaVern is treasurer of Deca, 3-B District Secretary - Trea surer, and was first semester President of her homeroom, LaVern was surprised about the award, but very pleased When asked how she felt about this school year she replied, “Overall it has been a good year, but RMSH couW still use some improvements.’* She plans to continue her ed ucation at North Carolina Cen tral University in Durham. La- Vern’s statement concerning her leaving RMSH was "we all gotta go sometime.” Ronnie Osborne Although Ronnie is a new stu dent at RMSH this year, he has made himself known by the hard work he tos done for the school. His interest in student - go vernment and politics speaks for itself. He is Vice - Pre sident of the senior class and was President this year of the Rocky Mount Teenage Re publican C lub. Ronnie also ser ves on theAssemblyCommittee here at schooL When he isn’t busy with stu dent government or politics, he enjoys swimming and playing tennis and basketball. Ronnie’s comment about RM SH was, ‘I like the school be cause I feel the teachers take a special interest in each stu dent and also because RMSH Roscoe Grifrin Shoes 218 S. Good luck to a great guy! David Jordan David is an industrious and genial boy who is well - known for the services he has ren dered to promote a better RM SH. His hobbies are photogra phy, reading, and listening to cl assical musical. He is In the Order of the Arrow in his Boy Scout troop, and spends much of his time in Scout activities. A former Hi-Noc-Ar photo grapher, David is also a mem ber of the Drug Task Force. David plans to attend UNC- CH next year, where he will be studying medicine, as well as chemistry and zoology. He plans to become a doctor. David likes the curriculum here at RMSH, and thinks that the teachers are truly interest ed in furthering the education of their students. He thinks that the students are friendly and really interested in each other. When asked his re action to winning the honor Da vid said, "I was very sur prised and happy!*’ Congratulaions, David, and good luck at UNC-CH. Well, seniors, this Is the last *73 Gryphon.
