Page 4 THE FULL MOON March 14, 1952 bulldog barks ATHLETES OF THE MONTH PEGGY JOHNSON Peggy Johnson, 5’7%”, brown hair and green eyes, was chosen Athlete of the Month because of her ability as guard to play her favorite sport, basketball. This is Peggy's second year on the varsity. P&ggy's job is to guard the very tallest girls. Today, that is considered the hardest de fensive position due to the fact that most teams use very tall girls. This season Peggy was called upon to guard a player towering approximately seven inches above her. It was hard work, but Peggy did her best. Peggy has done her hardest work herg at A. H. S. She will long be remembered, and where- ever she may be, she will always be a good sport as well as a grand basketball player. Besides playing basketball, Peggy enjoys tennis, ping pong, swimming, and going to the movies. Writing letters is her pastime. If you want to get mail, ask Peggy to write you. JIMMY SKIDMORE He sets, shoots, and swish, he’s done it again. Jimmy Skidmore, our athlete of the month, a good-looking six- foot senior forward, has made another field goal attempt good. “Skid”, as he is called by all his friends, made a total of 75 points for the year and there is no way of telling how many as sists he gave. Jimmy’s best game was with Mooresville when he acted as captain and made a total of nine points for the night. Jim has been on Coach Jef fords’ basketball team for the last two years and has a very impressive record. He is very popular with all the players and coaches. Skid was manager for the football team and also a member of the tennis team. Swimming and tumbling are al so part of his sports activities. Jim plans to enter Annapolis this fall, and Uncle Sam will take care of his plans for about two years after he graduates.
