editorial The truth, the way, the light “Truthfulness is something we need in politics.” Dr. James David Barber is right. But, not only do we need the truth in politics, we need truthfulness in all walks of life. Dr. Barber’s references to the Scriptures sparked an interest. ‘The truth shall set you free” and “Jesus is the way and the truth and the life” are just verses to some, but the truth is an important part of Meredith. The college seal represents the light or the truth with its torch and the Latin LUX meaning light or illumi nation. Meredith’s honor sys tem is based on the honesty of her students, faculty, and administration. By adhering to the honor code, we gain knowledge of ourselves and others in the truest light; how ever, we must decide in our own lives whether to walk in the truth, the way, and the light.
