Moreno, who lives in Raleigh and has two watercolor pieces on display, "Main Sueet Morning” and “Tliree Boats at Kanga Lake,” said tliat he tliought it was “a beautiful day and a beautiful sliow,” His wife, JoAnn Moreno, also felt the show was “well done." Margaret White, who lives in Chapel Hill and whose oil on linen entitled “The House in a Storm” won honorable mention, said she was very pleased tliat slie got an award. White also said that slie was tlirilled tliat Wolf Kalm, the juror for the exhibit and her “living hero,” got to look at her woik. Wolf Kalin was the one responsible for choosing all tlie work tliat went into the exhibit. Banker said about one out of every four artists who entered got in. In tlie catalogue which was available at the opening K;ilin says he bases his "standards” on “spirit,” “power of expression,” and “being at home widi where you are and who you are.” Tlie catalogue was prepared by Nona Short and tlie pictures inside were taken from slides.
