Watch for the listings next month- --------- oGo --------- OUR NEW NEIGHBORS Are there any chess enthusiasts in town? Richard Soderberg would like to meet you, talk chess, show his splendid collection of sets and have a match. He and his wife Bea live in Building "0"-3 in Wesport and the telphone [247-5658] is ready to receive the challenge! Rich and Bea found Pine Knoll Shores about four years ago. They had been visiting their son and his family in Virginia and wanted to look further south. They let their pencil do the pointing on a road map and landed at the Ramada Inn. Just across the street was Beacon's Reach, and by the end of the week they were the proud owners of a condominium there. Soon, back in Wilmington, Delaware where Rich worked as a chemical engineer with DuPont, plans began to make ready for retire ment, and in the summer of 1987 the permanent move to PKS was a matter of record. The Soderbergs have three children - two sons and a daughter - and are proud of their three granddaughters. Rich and Bea are interested in golf, bridge and swimming. They enjoy travel, and bring back, as a reminder of each trip, a decorative animal. Not only do they enjoy Pine Knoll Shores but they are concerned over future development. Rich serves as President of the Westport Homeowners Association. Pine Knoll Shores welcomes the Soderbergs. Bill and Betty were both born in North Carolina, but they met in Florida where they were working at the time, she as a teacher, he in stocks. About thirty years ago they came to Morehead City. Bill went into business for himself and now has the Carteret Quick Freeze Co. and Beaufort Ice Co. Bill and Betty have two sons and a daughter. Donnie, the oldest, lives with his wife Karan and their three children in Morehead City. Can you imagine having your grandchildren that near? Their other son Tim also settled in Morehead and he works at Clausen's. Cindy, their daughter, and her husband Mario, live in Connecticut but they visit often. As we sat and talked Betty told me how she and Bill loved dogs. They had four at one time but now have only two: B.J. and Crip. She asked me if I would like to see them. As we walked to "their room" Betty told me about Crip. She had been a
