Page -6- We will learn basic wildlife rehabilitation skills - anatomy, rescue and transport, diets, diagnosis, and orphan care, I would also like to learn more about you and the special skills you have to offer, so that all of us can work together - as cage builders,^^ baby bird feeders, secretaries, rescuers, raccoon moms, and all the other vital jobs — to give wildlife in our area the excellent care it deserves. To reserve a space in the class, please call Stephanie Goetziner at 247-5767. We will limit attendance to 25 people, so everyone will have the chance for "hands-on" experience. STEPHANIE GOETZINER Director - O.W.L.S. --------- oOo --------- JO COX SCORES It has come to our attention that Jo Cox, Calligrapher, whose work is well known here in Pine Knoll Shores, has recently been honored by the Miniature Art Society of Florida. She received one of two cash prizes for calligraphy in an international field of artists. Congratulations, Jo. You do us proud! --------- oGo --------- PINE KNOLL SHORES WOMEN'S CLUB The Pine Knoll Shores Women's Club will meet Friday, February 26, at 9:30 a.m., in the Town Hall. The program "At Your Leisure" will provide an opportunity to examine and admire hobbies and crafts of group members. There will be items on display as well as craft demonstrations. If any member has not been contacted but wishes to display an item, she may call Mary Lou Kay, 247-3081, before Monday, February 22nd. Reminder: The Women's Club supplies free flourescent bands to slip over your shoulder for safety when you walk in the evening. Pick one up at the Town Hall. LOLA COUNCIL --------- oGo --------- PINE KNOLL SHORES GARDEN CLUB The Pine Knoll Shores Garden Club met Wednesday morning, February 10 at the Town Hall. Members enjoyed a garden oriented program of recitations by Quentin M. Lewis of Gloucester, N. C.. The March meeting will feature the yearly plant auction. President Ann Hitch welcomed Mary Heim as a new member to the club. She also announced, with regret, the resignation of Eleanor Engelmann. Treasurer Lenora Roberson presented the 1988 budget for the club members to consider and vote upon at the March meeting. Lois Jean O'Keefe, chairman of the nominating com mittee, presented a slate of officers for the 1988-89 club year. Other members serving on the nominating committee were Mildred Kerr and Alice Jean Noble. Elections will be in May with installation at the June meeting. The slate consisted of these nominations: President, Bobbie Ready; 1st Vice President, Pat Flinn; 2nd Vice President, Louise Jolitz; Recording Secretary, Ruth Kane; Corresponding Secretary, Joan Dawson; and Treasurer, Lenora Roberson. Preceding the meeting, coffee and refreshments were served by Louise Jolitz, Audrey Hoffmeyer, Marjorie Kalning and Mildred Kerr. JOAN DAWSON --------- oGo --------
