REMINDER FROM PLANNING BOARD AND COMMUNITY APPEARANCE COMMISSION The Planning Board and Community Appearance Commission would like to remind residents of the following concerns. 1. Sometimes garbage is placed on the right-of-way before pickup day. this can become a nuisance if the wind blows and cans tip or animals are drawn by the contents and spread it along the street. 2. The town also requires that yard waste, which is scheduled for pickup the last Tuesday of the month, be prepared according to Waste Industries guidelines, and that it not be left earlier than weekend before pickup. 3. Further, with the approach of summer, be reminded that more people are walking on the street and on the beach. If you exercise your dog, remember that Pine Knoll Shores has a "Pooper Scooper" law. The town also receives calls about barking dogs, which can be very annoying. In summer when windows are open, the noise of a dog barking can be very disturbing.
