As yet the planes have been unable to leave the carrier which is 600 miles from their destination, due to a blizzard which has made them backtrack some, and the ice floes which prevent the speed re quired for a take-off. But when they do, the intense cold and a mile long ice run way, and their homes in tents on the ice are waiting lor them. —G. J.
