Talk On Sales Features 25-Year Progri J. H. Byler, manager of the Bedspread Merchandising Department, is shown as he addressed the 25-Year Club meeting for long-service employees of the Bed spread and Bedspread Finishing Mills. J. H. Byler, of the Fieldcrest sales division, was the principal speaker at the 25-Year Club picnic for long-service employees of the Bedspread and Bed spread Finishing Mills Saturday, Sep tember 7, at the Burton Grove School in Leaksville. Mr. Byler, manager of the Bedspread Merchandising Department, discussed our various lines of bedspreads. He pointed out that many lines are manu factured for large bulk customers, and discussed the styling and packaging re quired. He explained the necessity of frequent style changes and sample work in keep ing all of the lines up to date and stress ed the importance of quality and prompt service in obtaining and holding custo mers for the mill. Prior to Mr. Byler’s talk, Robert A. Harris, Fieldcrest vice president—manu facturing, extended greetings on behalf of general management. He expressed the company’s appreciation of the loyal ty and cooperation of the long-service employees who he said have contributed substantially to the success of the " ness. J Also making brief talks were Barron, Jr., manager of the Bedsp and Bedspread Finishing Mills; an“ G. Runnings and J. P. Foster, sw intendents, respectively, of those , Musical entertainment was by Betty Murphy, daughter of Murphy, an employee of the Cloth and a member of the 25-Year ^ Diana Banks was accompanist for ‘ Murphy’s solo. Jones Norman, industrial representative, was master of ce: ,re«' ies. The invocation was given by Anderson, retired superintendent o Bedspread Mill. In the drawings for the atten -s' of prizes, two bedspreads, the winners Catherine Cochran, an employee ^ Inspecting Department; and H. p- who is employed in the Cardin® partment. Following the program, the » enjoyed a picnic lunch served * school cafeteria. Being served coffee by Mrs. Paul Fleming (from front to George L. Hall, a new member of the 25-Year Club ^ back) are Effie McCulloch, Fletcher Talbott, Ruby Pratt, comed by J. H. Crowder, Sr., a retired member. Anotb®*j X, KruTiPr. a rptirpp member, Jack Murphy, was unable to attend due to Louise Burnette, Daisy Clark and Rucker Frazier, a retiree. Following the program in auditorium, the group moved to the cafeteria for a picnic lunch. Shown in foreground here are Effie McCulloch, Ruby Pratt and Leona Smith.
