NEWELL Two Promoted The following promotions at the Karastan Spinning Division in Green ville have been announced, effective September 1: William G. Newell, foreman of the Winding and Twisting Department, was appointed general night foreman, super vising the night operations of the plant. Luby M. Skinner, who has served in several supervisory capacities at Greenville, was named foreman of the Winding and Twisting Department, re placing Mr. Newell. A native of Rockbridge County, Va., Mr. Newell was a foreman in the Twist ing Department of James Lees and Sons, Glasgow, Va., prior to joining Fieldcrest Mills in January, 1961. He began as a supervisor in the Winding and Twisting Department at Greenville and one year later was promoted to foreman of the department. He served in that capacity until his most recent promotion. Mr. Skinner was born at Ayden in Setliff Children "N.' Victor Reid Setliff (left), one year old, and Paul Gordon Setliff, three and one-half years old, are sons of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Setliff, of Greenville. Mr. Set liff is supervisor of mill accounting at the Karastan Spinning Division and formerly was in the Drap>er Cost De partment. Mrs. Setliff, the former Katie Williams of Draper, was a nurse at Morehead Memorial Hospital before moving to Greenville. SEPTEMBER 23, 1963 LUBY M. SKINNER At Greenville Greene County and was first employed at the Greenville plant in 1954 as a shipping clerk. He later was a fixer for about three years before becoming a supervisor in the Spinning Department. Most recently he has served in the Carding and Blending Departments in supervisory capacities.
