At the time of the changes in July, the Major Medical insurance and the existing group insurance plan, includ ing the Base Hospital Plan, were com bined into one insurance “package”. How Major Medical Works Here is how the Major Medical works: After the base plan has paid all it will pay, the plan member pays the next $100 and then Major Medical pays 80% of all covered charges connected with the hospitalization up to a maxi mum of $25,000. Benefits under Major Medical con tinue for six months after the date that you are released from the hospital. Al though you must be hospitalized to start a claim. Major Medical coverage ap plies to the related costs of drugs, doc tors’ visits, registered nurses’ care or other covered charges for six months 19 7 2 after the date of your discharge from the hospital. If you are reconfined to the hospital for the same cause after the six months period, the insurance benefits will be gin anew with an additional deductible but also with another six months of cov erage from the date of your next re lease from the hospital. The new insurance certificates are being sent to all plan members who were on the active payroll November 3. Those who have been out and have returned to work since that date should request a certificate from the area per sonnel manager. New employees hired after November 3 will automatically receive their cer tificates through the mill mail system. If an employee has any question about his insurance coverage at Fieldcrest he should talk to his local personnel man ager or contact the Insurance Depart ment at the General Offices, Eden.
