Police Court THIS WEEK AT THE COUNTY RECORDER COURT Hear Ye. Hear Ye All interested in attending the City Police Court of Mayor Kelly Jenkins. Court time has been changed. Effective*, next week, the city court will meet in the mornings instead of afternoons. New hours of Police Court wilL be at ten a. m. each Monday and Friday of each week. The change has been made on account of the hours of the police, it being possible for them to attend the morning sessions better under the new set-up. Monday sessions will get all the weekend business, while Friday morning will catch the overflow from the Monday session and what may come up during the middle of the week. 16 Cases County Court This Week --n Recorder Court Docket consist ed of 16 cases this week. The case of Herbert Mosley charge with reckless driving was nol prossed with leave. Mollie Vinson pleaded not guil ty to a charge of damage to pro perty. She was found guilty and sentenced to 6 months in jail. Copias to issue April 5, 1935 to Halifax and Northampton Coun ties. The case of Hugh Garris charg ed with abandonment and non support was nol Prossed with leave. George Banks charged with assault on female pleaded not guity. He was found guilty and fined $10. and costs. The case of J. R. Liles, charged with giving a worthless check was continued until April 16, 1935. Same Dancy pleaded not guilty to assault with deadly weapon. He was found guilty and fined $10 and costs. The case of Elizabeth Clary charged with forgery was trans ferrd to Superior Court. Jesse White pleaded guilty to a liquor charge. He was sentence to 4 months in jail to be as signed to work under the direc- j tion of the State Highway and. Pubic Works Commission. The case of Dane Maze charg ed with being drunk and dis orderly was nol prossed with leave. Junus Watson charged with as sault on female pleaded not guil ty. Jack Stewart pleaded not guil ty to a larceny charge. He was found guilty and sentenced to 6 months in jail to work under the direction of the State Highway and Public Works Commission. Jack Dickens charged with as sult with deadly weapon pleaded not guilty. He was found guilty and sentenced to 2 months in jai to work under the direction of the Works Commission. Jack Dickens pleaded guilty to carrying a concealed weapon. He was sentenced to 3 months in jail to work under the direc tion of the State Highway and Public Works Commission. John Bennett charged with un lawful possession of pistols plead ed gulty Prayer for judgment was contnued upon condition he pays a fine of $15 and costs and appears 1st Tuesday of each month for 1 year and shows good behavior. Claude Newell charged with driving while drunk abandoned appeal to Superior Count and pays fine of $50 and costs. MOORE FUNERAL •——o Charley Moore, 55, died Tues day morning at his home at the Kittrell Boarding House on the Avenue. Funeral services were held yesterday afternoon at the home by Reverend S. J. Starnes with interment in the local ceme tery. The deceased was a car penter and a local resident for many years. Surviving are the widow, a daughter, May Moore, and a brother, Henry, of Dan ville, Va.
