BOCAINFWS Miss Maxine Hawkins is spend ing the week at Minnesotte Beach. Miss Ann Coleman and Miss Lil lian Bell Jenkins spent the week end at Virginia Beach. Mrs. Gordon Maddry of Wood land spent Sunday with Mrs. B. J. Dunning. Miss Evelyn Tilghman of Cary is spending the week here. Mrs. C. T. Johnson and Mrs. Lewis Johnson are spending the week at Minnesotte Beach. Mr. and Mrs. Woodbury of Wil mington were the guests of Mr* and Mrs. Martin Sunday. Misses Ruth and Viola Glover are spending the week at Minne sotte Beach. Mesdames Haywood Cherry and Reba Bryant, Miss Reba Lee Bry ant, Howard Hawkins and Cary Massey spent Sunday in Richmond. Prof. C. W. Davis has returnde from Chapel Hill. S. L. Jones has returned from Norfolk. Mrs. Doris Knapp of Mt. Ver non, N. Y., is visiting her mother, Mi's. J. C. Finch. Mrs. C. W. Davis and sons, Charles and Lenier, have returned from Hillsboro. Mrs. C. B. King and daughters, Mabel and Mary, of Gasburg, were out of town shoppers here Monday. Miss Josie Matthews returned from Conway Friday where she had been the guest of Miss Ellen Martin. Misses Fannie and Willie Harris, Ellen Martin, Earnest Vaughan, Edwin Cameron and Norman New man spent Sunday at Colerain Beach. Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Liverman visited in Washington, D. C., last week. Miss Lillie Mae Keeter is spend ing the week in Norlina and Franklin. Miss Pauline Kendrick spent Sunday at W’hite Plains. Maurice Fleming and Miss Na omi Merritt spent Sunday at Til lery. Linwood Wright spent Sunday at White Plains. Miss Gladys Steinberg left Mon day for Myrtle Beach, South Caro lina, where she will spend several weeks with the Summer Colony of the Henderson School of Dancing, of Charlotte. She will later join a tour of the school, going with them to Chicago, before returning to her home in the city. D. M. McKnight, Brown and Williamson Tobacco Co. salesman, of Rocky Mount, was in Roanoke Rapids this week. Maurice J. Nielsen, city jeweler, has been confined to his apartment in the Citizens Bank Building the last couple of days, with a severe attack of acute indigestion. Mrs. David Traynham has re turned from an extended visit to relatives 'in Christiansburg, Va. Mr. Traynham motored up for the week-end and Mrs. Traynham ac companied him home. August 20th and they will return the evening of August 31st. Question: In what capacity will Scoutmaster Bill Alligood of Troup 42 of Roanoke Rapids serve ? Answer: Scoutmaster Alligood will serve as an Assistant Scout master of Jamboree Troup 37, and will cartoon daily for the Jam boree Journal. Question: Will there be a spe cial National Jamboree Scout uni form ? Answer: The regular scout summer uniform will be used with the special Jamboree insignia. Question: Who will be some of the leaders in Washington ? Answer: Uncle Dan Beard will be Honorary Camp Chef. James E. West, Chief Scout Executive, will serve as the Jamboree Camp Chief. The Executive Director of the National Jamboree will be Ar thur A. Schuck and John J. Sig wald. our East Carolina Council Executive, will be the “Official Voice” of the Jamboree as he will handle the microphone and loud speaking facilities.
