CV—NO. 3 Oxford, North Carolina 27565, May, 1980 ONE DOLLAR A YEAR This Is Our New Grand Master Near the close of the 193rd Annual Communication of the Grand Lodge of North Carolina, on April 16, 1980, Everette Stansil Aldridge was elected and installed Grand Master of Masons in North Carolina. He is North Carolina's 127th Grand Master. Born October 20, 1932, Stan Aldridge was one of four children born to Mary Swaringen Aldridge and the late William S. Aldridge, Sr. He grew up in Albemarle and attended the public schools there. He continued his education at the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science, graduating in 1955. Returning to Albemarle, he purchased interest in Stanly Funeral Home, Inc. Eleven years later, upon the retirement of two senior stockholders, he acquired majority stock in the corporation and continues as its head. In 1955 Stan married the former Catherine Taylor, a registered nurse, who died of cancer in (Continued on Page Two) Grand Lodge 1980 Raleigh—The 193rd Annual Communication of the Grand Lodge of North Carolina was held at the Royal Villa Convention Center on April 15 and 16, with some 1700-1800 Masons attending all or portions of the sessions. The Grand Lodge was called to order by General Chairman William A. Langley (DDGM- 24), the colors were presented, and the Grand Lodge officers entered the room and filled their chairs. Grand Master William B. Bellois opened the Grand Lodge and received the distinguished guests. A detailed account of the business transacted during the Annual Communication will appear in the 1980 Proceedings of the Grand Lodge, now in preparation, but a brief summary follows: Reports of the Grand Treasurer, the Grand Secretary, the boards, commissions and (Continued on Page Two) We are Sorry In order to include all essential material in this issue, it has been necessary to drastically shorten all articles.
