Jenks The Ladies Bible Class of our Church enjoyed a nice supper last Thursday night with Herman and Inez Choplin. Our special guests were our pastor, Rev. and Mrs. Leon Keefe, Mr. and Mrs. Eric Holmes, Mr. and Mrs. H. G. Bid- dell and Mr. Charles Watkins, Mr. L. J. Lassiter and Mr. R. A. Looper. Then after supper the ladieS went to Mr. and Mrs. Henry Keith’s home for our Christmas party, Ryan Keith helped to make our party a delight by playing the piano for us. Silent Night and our Lord’s Prayer were his selec tions. And they were very well done. Thank you Ryan. The Young Adult Ladies and Men Class had their Christmas supper last Saturday night at our Community house. They reported a nice time. Jerry Carter was sick last week end. It is our hope that he is well by now. Miss Jackie Bruce was here with her grandparents last week end, Mr. and Mrs. R. A. Looper. Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Blackmon were honored on their 15th wed ding anniversary with a nice sup per by our Pastor and his wife in their home. Mr. and Mrs. Wal lace (Buddy) Looper were honor ed on his birthday by the Keef’s at the same time. Jackie’s mother and father and brother, Frankie Bruce all from South Carolina will be here with the R. A. Loopers until after Christmas. Mr. and Mrs. Eric Holmes are expecting her sister (Bug) and Richard from Fla. Mabel, Donald and Shelby Holmes wUl come home too they are in Ga. We had a beautiful White Christ mas service last Sunday night in our worship service, we took gifts wrapped in white to be given out in the community, we also had a very pretty service during our Training Union Program, good singing by different ones and by groups, directed by our Pastor and Training Union director Tim Wat kins and others. Zeb Strickland had charge of our music and it surely was sweet and pretty. A very special Christmas greet ing to the W. F. Andrews family, and to the Archie Carter family to the Kelley family, and to others who had such a bad experience through this year. To mother Car ter and the Forbes family. Have a nice day and remember this is the day that the Lord hath made let us be glad and rejoice in it. Hi! Miss Mary Andrews happy Christmas to you. Neal Blackmon is sick at this writing. We hope he will be real well soon. Mr. Ollie Leonard is home from the hospital and Vickie Leonard is fine now so we hope they will be well a long time now. Our young people here are real ly enjoying caroling this week and last week. It really seems like Christmas. So Merry Christmas to all of you. Mr. Sion Williams is at his home now, after being in the hos pital about three months. I am sure all your friends will be real glad that you are much better Mr. Williams and we all hope you and Mrs. Williams will have a most pleasant and joyous Christmas and a happy New Year. Hope we can visit you both real soon. Glenn Johnson was heal sick I TEE TOPICS On Sunday several of the more hardy members braved the cold and wet weather to play their fa vorite sport. The only round turn ed in to speak of was a surprising three under par 67 by Ben Ay- cock, Jr. Tommy Byrne, Jr. turn ed in a 79 which usually would grab no headlines but he was seven over par after the first four holes so he must have played those last fourteen pretty good. Tommy, Jr. followed up this round on Monday with a very respectable 76 which is one of his better rounds of late. Monday and Tuesday Dec. 28 and 29th the following members will attend the father and son tournament being held in Pine- hurst, N. C.: S. W. Brewer and sons Sammy and Dickie; Cameron Lee and son, Richard; Ben Ay- cock and son Ben, Jr.; Nash Un derwood and son Martin. There may be other father and son teams but at this writing these are the only definite teams. On the first day the boys w^ play in a tournament and they wUl be entered in flights according to ages. The following day they vsiU play with their fathers and this tournament will also be based on ages of the boys, not fathers. Since this wiU be the last column of this year we wish all the en trants good luck and hope they all come home winners. Watch this column for results. If you are stiU up a tree trying to figure out the ideal Christmas gift for a friend or some member of your family, why not give them a member-ship in the goR club. Mrs. Nina Keith’s class met with Mrs. Mary Ann Smith Monday night for their revealing party. Each heart sister brought their gifts and revealed the gift and the sister, they really report a good time. Youngsville Den 3 Has YuleParty The Three Dens of YoungsvUle, Pack 588 held their Christmas Den party Thursday afternoon. Den I and II held their party at the School Building. Den HI held their party at Den Mothers Home. The Den Mothers gave each Cub Scout a Neckerchief slide, all Cub Scouts were present. Dr. James TuU officiated. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Melton Pearce. The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Karl Brixhoff. Given in marriage by her fa ther, the bride wore a chapel- length govm of bridal satin ap- pliqued in alencon lace. Her veil j was attached to a crown of seed pearls. C. the couple will reside in ing Louisburg College, Mrs. Judith Pearce of Fayette ville sister-in-law of the bride, was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Miss Anne Tull, Miss Suzanne Mills, Miss Connie Dean and Miss Phyllis Barrel! of Virginia Beach, Va. Father of the bridegroom was best man. Ushers were Malcolm David Pearce of Fayetteville, bro ther of the bride, Raymond Clifton Keith, James Hal Dobbins, and Jerry Madison Ward. LINDSEY REUNION The descendants of the late Tob Lindsey held their family reunion Sunday night, December 12 at the Youngsville Community House. Approximately thirty attended. Pattersons Entertain Club Mrs. B. H. Patterson entertain ed the two Thursday night bridge clubs on Monday evening, Decem ber 21 at her home with five ta bles playing. The home was beautifully decor ated throughout with lovely Christ mas arrangements. The mantle in the living room held two for mal candlelabra holding purple ta pers with gold beaded strands ex tending to a centerpiece of gold balls, leaves and a large purple net bow and streamers. A lovely gold Christmas tree held purple ornaments. After two progressions guests were served a delicious dessert course of congealed salad, open face sandwiches, cheese straws and coffee. The tables were cov ered with green organdy cloths and centered with miniature light ed Christmas tree candles on top of gold net leaves. | After completion of three pro-! gressions of bridge, guests were invited into the dining room where, they were served Holiday punch | and assorted cookies. The serving table held a small gold lighted. Christmas tree with purple stream ers extending onto the table, Mrs. A. N. Corpening poured. Members in attendance were Mesdames J. T. Moss, E. J. I Pearce, Evelyn A. Freeman, G. I E. Winston, G. W. Barnes, C. V. j Timberlake, Jones Winston, H. H. Reddick, Bland Mitchell, R. E. Cheatham, Kathleen Croom, W. F. Mitchell, T. E. Felton, Susan Green, N. A. Brown, J. H. Par rish, L. A. Woodlief, A. N. Cor pening, William H. Fleming and guests, Mrs. Robert Winston and Miss Nancy Mitchell.
