Another pro ject is the land judging contest in the interest of soil conservation. ROLAND EVANS Training Union “M” Night was held Monday r.ight at Rock Hock Bap tist Church. It started at 8 o’clock with Jim Vaus as speaker. Rocky Hock Training Union won the banner. The Woman’s Missionary , Union week of prayer for foreign missions is being observed this week with the theme being “Life Through His Name.” The meetings are being held at Edenton Baptist Church. Sympathy goes out to relatives of Miss Beatrice Ellis. The College of the Albe marle presented the Albe marle Choral Society in its fourth annual Christmas concert with guest artists being the Ciompi String Quartet from Duke Uni versity, at Edenton Baptist Church Sunday afternoon at 4 o’clock. “Noel” was the title of the concert with Dr. Clifford Bair director. A large crowd was present. Edenton Aces played a 26-26 tie game with Southern Wayne High School in New Bern Fri day night for the Eastern 2-A Conference champion ship. Many Edenton foot ball fans attended the game. Edenton’s Christmas pa rade was held Monday af ternoon at 4 o’clock. Jacob Hobowsky opened a shoe repair shop at 312 South Broad Street De cember 4. Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Peele visited Mr. and Mrs. Clark Peele and family at Pantego Saturday.
