State : University announces the continuation ;of its annual summer workshop for superior high school students on the applications of chemistry and physics to engineering materials. The workshop will be held July 8-12, 1974 on the campus of N. C. State. This year Ottis Cowper of Gatesville, a student at Chowan Academy, has been invited to attend. The program will be . particularly meaningful to those ' students who are considering '■ engineering as a choice of ; university study. This year’s ; workshop will concentrate on ' chemical and physical iprinciples involved in the fabrication, testing, and physical examination of metals and ceramics. The students will be given opportunities to use laboratory equipment that most high School labs do not have. '* Participants will use optical microscopes, mechanical and electrical testing equipment coupled with computer analysis, and other control devices in carefully selected 'experiments in such subjects as fabricating glass, crystal structures in metals, corrosion of metals, metal microstructure, failure analysis, and enameling ..metals. Dividend Voted By Peoples Bank ROUCY-MOUNT-The Board of Diik!ctarr'i(rf-'ftaopete Bafik i and Trust CompanjßtVoted at their May 15 meeting to declare a dividend of 22 cents per share on the hank's common stock. The dividend will be payable June 28 to shareholders of record on June 14. This newly declared dividend represents a 10 per cent increase over the 20 “tents per share dividend declared during the first quarter. The new dividend will bring the year-to-date dividend total to 42 cents paid to shareholders compared to 38 cents paid during the same period of 1973.
