A native of Tyrrell County, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Katie Twiddy Wright, and the wife of the late Josejih D. Twiddy. She was a retired spinner for Edenton Cotton Mill and a member of First Chris tian Church. She is survived by three sisters - Mrs. Lora Grant of Austin, Texas, Mrs. Nina Ange and Mrs. Mary Goodwin, both of Edenton. A graveside service was con ducted at 2 p.m. on Friday, August 14 in Beaver Hill Cemetery with Rev. E.C. Alex ander officiating. Williford-Barham Funeral Home of Edenton was in charge of arrangements. Kines D. Copeland Mrs. Kines Dail Copeland, 79, of Route 1, Tyner, died August 14 in Chowan Hospital. A native of Chowan County, she was the daughter of the late John Clingman and Celia Outland Dail, and the wife of the late Merrill E. Copeland. She was a homemaker and a member of Happy Home Pentecostal Church. Survivors include: three daughters - Yvonne C. Ward of Tyner, Margaret C. Spivey of Newport News, Va. and Carole C. Chappell of Belvidere; two sons - M. El wood Copeland of Elizabeth City and Paul Durwood Copeland of Tyner; three sisters - Rehem Chappell of Belvidere, Recer Jor dan and Albertha Chappell, both of Tyner; 14 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. A funeral service was con ducted at 3 p.m. on Sunday, August 16 in the Happy Home Church with Rev. Henry Pillow and Rev. Eula Harrell officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery. Pallbearers were Andy Spivey, Harry Ward, Kevin Spivey, Bryant Chappell, James Bray and Gene Chappell Jr. —Wmittfrd-Barhhm Funeral Hom^of Edenton was in charge of arrangements. Anne S. Jenkins Mrs. Anne Speight Jenkins, 83, of 108 West Eden Street, Edenton, died August 15 in Unit C, Chowan Hospital. A native of Chowan County, she was the daughter of the late W.O. and Minnie Perry Speight, and the wife of the late Henry C. Jenkins. She was a retired beautician who for many years had owned and operated Anne’s Beauty Salon. She was in ducted into the N.C. Cosmetology Hall of Fame in 1981, had served on the N.C. Also, Mrs. Jenkins was a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, a charter member of the Edenton Business and Profes sional Woman’s Club, and the American Legion Auxiliary Post 40. Survivors include: one son-Will Speight Bond of Wake Village, Texas; two sisters - Mrs. Alula Speight Colvin of Temperanceville, Va. and Mrs. Margaret S. White of Edenton; one brother - W.E. Speight of Hertford. A graveside service was con ducted at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, August 18 in Beaver Hill Cemetery with Rev. John Gibson officiating. Williford-Barham Funeral Home of Edenton was in charge of arrangements. Judy Cozzens Miss Judy Cozzens, 70, of Pasadena, Calif., died August 12 at her home. Miss Cozzens was a social ser vices worker in Los Angeles and Pasadena before her retirement in the early 1970’s. Survivors include: two sisters - Mrs. Ada C. Barringer of Edenton and Mrs. Anna Mae Jolly of Nor folk, Va.; three nieces and two nephews. A memorial service will be held August 21 at 2 p.m. in Edenton Baptist Church with Dr. Kenneth Word officiating. Zannie L. Williams Zannie Lucas Williams, 80, of Route 2, Edenton, died August 17 in Memorial Hospital, Danville, Va. A native of Rockingham County, N.C., she was the daughter of the late James and Callie Reid Lucas and the wife of the late Percy L. Williams. She was a homemaker and a member of Yeopim Baptist Church. Survivors include: four daughters - Esther Brabble, Alice Martin and Edna Tripp, all of Edenton, and Anna Hare of Tyner; three sons - Guy P. Williams and K.W. Williams, both of Edenton, and Lloyd (Mike) Williams of Fayetteville; four sisters - Nellie Lucas of Danville, Va., Clemmie Lemons of Eden, Naomi Nelson of Pinetops and Ethel Inman of Morehead City; two brothers - Norman Lucas of Greensboro and Richard Lucas of Pinetops; 16 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren. A funeral service was con ducted at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, August 19 in Williford-Barham Funeral Chapel with Rev. Stanley Nixon officiating. Burial followed in Beaver Hill Cemetery.
