Leaves From the Wonder Book By Giles W. Pearson N Just before the highway goes into the paved street at Saluda on the side next to Tryon, you will see a white house, in a ravine, be tween the highway and street. Look down this ravine, or hollow as we call it, and you will have a perfect view of the west side of Tryon mountain, including Ricks- Haven. Look at all this carefully, so you will refnember how ft looks; and then the next time you pass, even if it h?s only been a short time, look again and see if it is ever the same color. This- is one of the interesting articles written for The Polk County News by Giles W. Pearson. There are other articles by him and other expert writers. The Polk County News costs only tAvo cents a week, less than the price of a postage stamp. MR. HENRY BRAY Passed away at 1:15 today. Funeral arrangements will be made later. Mrs. Bray requests that no flowers be sent. 300 or more people were arrest ed yesterday in Western North Carolina for not having boug*ht their auto licenses for this year. WEATHER: Fair and warmer for Thursday. (NO.180) J
