C., UNDER THE ACT OF CONGRESS, MARCH 3,1879 MASONS MEET IN TRYON TONIGHT Plans are all set tor the big Masonic meeting to be held fo ught at Missildine’s hall with the okyuka lodge. Among the outstand ing Masons sheduled on the pro gram from Asheville are Roy F. Ebbs, Past Grand Master, Grand Lodge of North Carolina; Guy H. Morris, Dist. Deputy Grand Master 39th District, Grand Lodge of N. C.; John Foreman, Eminent Com mander, Cyrene Commandery No. 5, K. T.; Chas. C. Ricker, Excel ent High Priest, Asheville Chap ter No. 25, Royal Arch Masons an Illustrious Master, Ionic Coun cil No. 9, Royal and Select Mas ters.; From Hendersonville is ex pected J. E. Shipman, Grand Marshal, Grand Lodge of N. C. There will be a large number of Masons from adjoining towns. An interesting feature of the meeting will be a one-act play to put on by the Asheville club. Aleorge E. Bell is Worshipful Piaster of the Skyuka Lodge of Tryon and W. E. Kilpin is the Genei*al Chairman of Arrange ments. Following the Masonic work refreshments will be served the guests. Kiwanis Tuesday The Tryon Kiwanis c|lub will meet on Tuesday at 1 p. m. at Ho tel Tryon with W. E. Kilpin in charge of the program discussing the projects of the club. Tryon Boy Scouts meet Tuesday night at 7:30 at School Gym. TRYON LOSES TO ENKA; SCORE 9-7 Try on and Enka played a close beseball game on Saturday after noon at Harmon Field. The score was tied three times during the game, but Enka broke the tie in the tenth inning with a two run play. Edward Fisher got three hits for Tryon including a home run. SCOUT CAMP TO OPEN HERE SOON Officials -of the Piedmont Coun cil, Boy Scouts of America, Inc. announce that representatives from the Counties of Gaston, Ire dell, Cfeveland, Lincoln. Ruther ford Polk, Alexander, Caldwell, Burke and McDowell will gather at Hotel Charles in Shelby on Tuesday night, May 26th at 7:15 o’clock for a meeting of the Exec j utive Board of the organization. Plans will be made for the summer activities of the 2,400 Scouts of the Council and for the operation of the Piedmont Boy Scout Camp at Lake Lanier, near Tryon, where more than 1,000 Scouts will spend a part of the summer. The Pied mont camp at Lake Lanier will Qpen with a leader’s conference on June 13th and 14th. The first Troops to attend Camp will enter on June 15th and the camp will operate until the end of August.
