C., died yesterday morning in a Columbia, S. C., hospital following ani illness of about eight years. Survivors include his mother, Mrs. Zora Boyd, of Candler; a son, J. E. Boyd* of Landrum; fiv*e daughters, Mrs. L. F. Hall, Mrs. Gertrude Thompson and Mirs. Joe King all of Spartanburg, S. C., and Mrs. Harry Johnson of Jack son Mills, S. C.; two brothers, Irvin Boyd, of Candler, and E. B. Boyd of Candler, route 1; ,and two sisters, Mrs. Sara Benfield, of Greenville, S'. C., and Mrs. Mildred McCarson of Candler. Librarian Appointed Saluda, Nov. 15.—Miss Eliza beth Simonton Thomas has been appointed to serve as librarian in the public library at Colum bus. Mliss Mjargaret Hart, of Salud,a, will assume the librarian’s position in the Saluda high school shortly. Flynns Buy Additional Hunting Country Land Mr. and Mrs. M. B. Is your boy one of them. 75 per cent of the leaders in college student activities such as the presidents, officers, captains, managers, edi tors, etc., and the Rhodes scholars, have been Boy Scouts. The parent whose boy is not in Scouting is allowing him to pass up something that he will need later in life. Scouting does not select the best boys, but the progressive boys se lect Scouting ....
