The New Mill According to a news article in Sunday's Citizen-Times the silk hosiery mill going up on the old Shields property north of Tryon will be completed this summer and ready for operation in the fall. It will "be two stories high, air conditioned, and have 35,000 square feet of floor space, will employ about 200 people with a payroll of approximately $30,000 per month. It is owned by the Adams Corp., of High Point. The officers are J. E. Millis, president and treas urer; H. D. Jobe, vice-president; and T. C. Langley, secretary and assistant treasurer, all of High Point. G. C. Farr, general man ager, is now in Tryon supervising the work. A road has already been built to the location and ac tual work begun. Ted Averill is at the home of Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Ward re cuperating from an appendix op eration. Mrs. C. A.
