One-Hour Local News Magazine Show Debuts On WPCO-TV i ne area s first entirely locally produced news magazine show makes its Debut October 24 at 10 p.m. on WPCQ-TV. ‘‘Friday Magazine,” produced by WPCQ’s award winning jour alist, producer and author, John Alexander, is an hour-long maga zine featuring the WPCQ-TV news team in a look at the week just past and a preview of the next week’s event, jt will include news updates of major stories and “live” fea hires such as a report from just “The Jeffereons” George tells baby Jessica a bedtime story and all is trans formed to the fantastic medieval Empire of Jefferson, where King George suits up for battle royal against the dark knight Inflation and the fate of the entire empire hangs in the balance, on “The Jeffersons,” to be rebroadcast at a special time this night only, Sun- ' day, October 26 at 10:30 p.m. on WBTV, Channel 3. During “Segment 36” viewers will get an in-depth look at a leading local news story reporter by a member of the WPCQ news department. "Segment 36" may -frequently include studio guests to continue the discussion with the reporter and the “Friday Maga zine” host. John Godwin, who has. worked with Alexander on three award winning programs in the last year (“HEW vs. UNC,” winner of the N.C. Educators Highest Award; “Doi Song Moi,” winner of the National Conference of Christians and Jews Media Award; and “Tellico, Lake of Tears,” selected as Best Documentary in the Caro linas by the ftadio and TV News Directors Association) will be prin cipal photographer and field pro ducer for many of the “Friday Magazine” segments.
